Pet care experience
Hike? Sign me up. Swim fetch? I’ll bring the tennis ball and a towel. Sniffari? We’ve already went on two and it’s only noon! Our pets spend the majority of their lives having everything decided for them. When to eat, when to go outside, what activities they get to do, etc. My care philosophy is giving them the freedom of choice to do the things that bring them joy, in a safe and controlled environment. I grew up with a series of special needs senior dogs looking for a soft place to spend their golden years. Halfway through college I got my golden retriever Huckleberry and was fortunate enough to have a village of people who would check in on him and fill in the gaps when class went long or I had to pick up an extra shift. Now, I’m here to help you.
Reviews
Repeat client for a reason: Elise is an awesome care provider for our senior kitty. Excellent (and at times funny) communication; multiple photos and quick responses leave us completely comfortable and confident in her care. Takes initiative and easily manages medications and specific needs. Goes above and beyond in all aspects! We'll definitely book her again.
Elise was great and helped us out on late notice. Communication was great!
Elise is the best! Thanks for taking Ellie out on an adventurous walk again!
Our dog Ellie absolutely adores Elise!! Thank you for helping us out with a nature walk today!

Something that’s very important to me is having a clear understanding of where my clients are at in their training journey with their dog. It should be a seamless transition between how you care for your pet and the care they receive when you’re away. I’m familiar with preventing escape artists, dealing with incontinence, giving medication, crate training, and reactivity. If your pet gets into something they shouldn’t have, it’s not on them that we failed to anticipate their needs. I strive for perfection, but we are all human and will never hide anything that happened during my stay with your pet. I provide photo updates and narrative report cards multiple times a day!
Information Elise J. would like to know about your pet
Knowing their history of reactivity, typical energy level and important command trigger words helps me meet your pet where they're at. Is there anything that is normal for your furry friend, but would initially be concerning to me? Bonus: Do you view yourself as sidewalk drill sergeant, a human treat dispenser, or something in the middle? I love teaching dogs new commands so if there’s anything you’re currently working towards or reinforcing, let me know!
A typical day
I usually take the dogs on two walks and one outing a day. That outing can include a car ride, swimming, a playdate with their friend, an intensive training session, a hike, a trip to a coffee shop or anything else they enjoy! I love taking them out on the island’s trails because the mental stimulation and change in environment engages all their senses. I also incorporate mental enrichment activities into meal time or during high energy afternoons.

Availability
I’m an online Healthcare Informatics student and enjoy a very flexible schedule. I’m up bright and early for the morning walks and am free all afternoon and evening to spend with your pet. I can work from anywhere if your pet suffers from separation anxiety or just needs a little extra love!
