Pet care experience
I've been a caring pet owner all my life. One of my first jobs was working at a dog kennel, where I learned a lot about making dogs and cats happy and comfortable in unfamiliar environments. I spent too much time chatting to, petting and playing with the animals instead of just cleaning their cages and moving on, but it was impossible for me to not provide love and comfort, especially to any little guy or gal who was feeling stressed-out. I recently volunteered at an animal shelter in Houston, Texas, and discovered I had a gift for calming down both dogs and cats. My friends know me as a big animal-lover, and they pointed me out to this site. This is a perfect fit for me. I have 3 cats at home (all rescues), and one has diabetes and needs daily insulin shots, so I'm comfortable giving that kind of medication.

Elise has a heart of gold, she loves pooches, people, puppies and of course kittens and cats! 🐩🐈🐾🐾 Her three feline roommates are her pride and joy. They, and their antics, are the stars of her Facebook posts. Your fur babies will be in excellent hands with Elise.
Elise is terrific with animals and takes the time to learn what their needs are, their quirks and maladies and best practices. She’s had the care of many dogs and cats, from infancy to adulthood as well as caring for them through serious illnesses. She’s rescued strays of all sorts including birds, and adopted some. Elise is the only one that can cut the claws on my adopted semi-feral 8 year-old cats and change their collars. Most of all, she is kind, patient, loving and caring for animals.

I love Labradors, beagles, and huskies. I've always been a larger-breed dog fan. Things I would want to know about a furry client would be: how socialized is your pet to people, children, other dogs and other cats? Are there any allergies or health concerns? How do they respond to traffic sounds, fireworks, thunder and other things out there in the big bad world? If they spot a jackrabbit or other small animal, are they likely to bolt? I have also experience walking cats on leashes, so I can provide that service too.
A typical day
I like to get a decent walk in before a fun activity like the dog park, just so my furry-client and I have some time together and can form a bit of a bond. I'm fit and active, so that works well with me being able to keep up with a variety of energy levels. I also love cats, and have three at home (all rescues). I no longer have a house with my own backyard, and had a hard time finding an affordable central apartment that allowed for a dog, so I'm looking to get my "doggie fix" by offering my services here!
