I have dog sat for a good friend of mine for a few years now. I have a house key and passcode to her alarm system, I'll either stay with the dogs (pitbull and two Chihuahuas), or make trips back and forth to make sure they are fed, have water and get outside to use the bathroom and play. I have had to give one of the Chihuahuas medicine before, but it was opening the capsule and mixing the medicine in with his food. I have also dog sat for some other friends of mine. They have a small jack Russell terrier and a black cat. I was given a key to their apartment, and stayed at their home for a few days to care for their animals. They also dropped the dog off at my home on another occasion for a short stay. The dog had recently been sick, and I had to give her medicine hidden in some cheese. She got sick a few times while we had her, but it wasn't anything too crazy to clean up. The dog has a tendency to go for things on tables or to pee on blankets, so I had to make sure that all food, potentially harmful items and extra blankets were moved out of the dogs reach.
