I'm EJ and I already LOVE your pet!

Pet care experience

Hello, I'm Elisabeth (EJ). If there's any person in Los Angeles who absolutely loves animals, it's me! I have had dogs and cats my entire life. Ranging from Golden Retrievers to little Poodles. Tiny strays to a pretty little calico! They're all so wonderful and special. Right now I have a 10 year old long haired dachshund who is my world! I know it's disheartening leaving your best friend at home while you may leave for the day, the night, or even the week. So, it's always comforting knowing that your fur baby will be in the right hands! I promise to send lots of pictures accompanied with lots of love and fun and great, great memories for your little baby. Thank you SO much ahead of time for letting me spend time with your little babies!!!

Ever since I've known Elisabeth she has been the most kind, caring, loving person;not just towards people but towards animals of all kinds. While on vacation I had her watch my two small dogs and they took to her immediately and received the best care that I could've wanted. She's attentive, loving, and very playful with any animal I've seen her encounter.

Elisabeth is FABULOUS! My last dog sitter cancelled on me last minute and left me in a bind but Elisabeth came to my rescue and watched my pup last minute without any complications at all. She is hilarious and kind and most importantly my dog LOVES her. He was almost sad to come home. Definitely book with Elisabeth if you want someone who is reliable, responsible AND provides great pictures of your furry family member while you're away!

Information Elisabeth J. would like to know about your pet

Firstly, it's crucial to provide me with your dog's medical information, including any allergies, medications they might need, and the contact details for their veterinarian in case of emergencies. Secondly, I'll need to understand your dog's behavior and temperament, as well as any specific triggers or fears they may have. This helps me ensure their comfort and safety during our time together. Additionally, knowing your dog's daily routine is essential. This includes their feeding schedule, potty breaks, and exercise requirements. Any special instructions, like dietary restrictions or preferred walking routes, are also crucial for me to follow. We should have a plan in place for emergencies, such as accidents or illnesses, and I'll need your contact information or an emergency contact if I have questions or need assistance. Having all the necessary supplies, like food, water, leash, collar, waste bags, and any preferred toys or equipment, readily available is a must. Ensuring a safe environment both inside and outside your home is important to prevent accidents or injuries. It's a good idea to make sure your dog has proper identification, like a collar with tags and a microchip, in case they get lost. Lastly, if you're entrusting me with your dog, please provide clear permission or authorization for me to care for them and access your property. By addressing these points ahead of time, I can provide the best possible care for your beloved pet and ensure a positive and safe experience while looking after them.

A typical day

I enjoy engaging dogs in a variety of fun activities. Depending on the dog's energy level and preferences, I like taking them to the dog park for social interaction and playtime. If they're up for it, I also love exploring hiking trails with them, allowing them to enjoy the outdoors. It's important to tailor activities to each dog's abilities and interests to ensure they have a great time.

A little more information about my care for your baby: When it comes to caring for pets, whether in my own home or at a client's residence, I prioritize their well-being above all else. Safety is paramount, so I thoroughly pet-proof the environment to prevent any potential hazards or accidents. Following the owner's instructions, I make sure to provide the pet with their regular meals, fresh water, and any special dietary requirements they may have, all while sticking to their established feeding schedule. Exercise and playtime are vital for a pet's physical and mental health, so I engage them in activities that suit their breed and energy level, which can include walks, play sessions, and mental stimulation with toys or puzzles. If the pet requires medication, I administer it precisely as instructed by the owner, and I keep a close eye on their overall health, promptly reporting any changes in behavior, appetite, or physical condition. Maintaining hygiene is essential, so grooming, brushing, and, if needed, professional grooming appointments are part of my routine. Affection and attention are offered freely, with petting, cuddling, and engaging in activities they enjoy. Communication with the pet owner is ongoing, ensuring they're kept informed about their pet's well-being and any significant events during their absence. Respecting the pet's routine is key to minimizing stress and ensuring their comfort, and I'm always prepared for emergencies, knowing the location of emergency supplies and the veterinarian's contact information. Lastly, when caring for a pet in the client's home, I treat their property with utmost respect and adhere to any house rules they provide. Overall, my approach to pet care is dedicated to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for the pets I have the privilege of looking after, tailored to their unique needs and preferences.
