Pet care experience
I am doing Rover.com because for several years I had to travel a lot for work, which I never would have been able to do without quality pet sitting services. Now I can return the favor! My goal is to provide a safe & happy environment for your dog while you are away as so many people did for me. I only take one dog at a time. I am also familiar with different training methods so your dog won't "forget" its manners at my house but they still will have a grand ole time! We have a lot of fun and games, but we do so constructively, safely, and happily. I've had dogs my whole life, and I take my care for them seriously. I work for myself, and I am generally never away from the house for more than 3-4 hours. I have always hiked with my dogs, and now I am even trying to surf with one of them! I've done agility classes, and life-skills classes for my dogs to work on good real-world behavior. It is a learning process for all of us! My dogs growing up were purebred (dalmation, vizsla, lab) & my own dogs as an adult have all been rescues, and I support several rescue organizations. I had two dogs for the last few years and recently my Sweet Ella Pie passed away. Mr. Fig loves to have visitors. I do have a cat, who is a pretty good judge of which dogs are OK to make friends with and which ones are not. My house has separated areas for dogs and cats so everyone is happy and content.
Reviews
Elizabeth is absolutely wonderful! Our husky, Loki, stayed for 10 days with her and she took care of him as he was hers. He got so much love, attention and care! We couldn't get more pleased with dog sitter. We recommend Elizabeth services to everyone who cares about their dog's wellbeing and will definitely use her services again in a near future. Thank you Elizabeth again, Dana and Roman
Elisabeth took excellent care of my dog. My dog gets pretty anxious around new people and environments, and she was very happy during her stay with Elisabeth. She is a very caring and responsible sitter, and I highly recommend her.
Eli has watched my family's dogs for years and I highly recommend her! She is loving and caring of people and animals alike, and we have always appreciated Eli's efforts to ensure our dogs are well-cared for and happy while with her. We have had a 50 lb. mixed breed dog and a 12 lb. Jack Russel stay with Eli in the past with glowing reviews from each.
Elisabeth is a dog person through and through. She is kind, caring, and trustworthy. As someone who has been HER dog sitter many times I know the kind of care she expects for her dogs, and would trust her to care for my dog in the same way anytime.

Information Elisabeth H. would like to know about your pet
Primarily I want to know (1) training methods used, (2) your dog is up to date on vaccines & whether it has any health concerns, (3) on and off leash manners, (4) the dog's general personality (nervous? confident? laid back? goofball?), (5) whether the dog has ever bitten anyone, (6) how the dog reacts to being told "no" (is your dog stubborn as a mule? or submissive?), (7) is the dog a barker, digger, jumper, or houdini?
A typical day
On weekdays, morning walks are usually about 40 minutes, and finish with 10-15 minutes of play time or off-leash time. Mid-day is a second walk about 20 minutes and backyard play time. Late afternoon is play or adventure time (local parks, hikes, swims) and some hang out and chill in the backyard to monitor the squirrels. Just before bedtime is a short walk around the neighborhood. On weekend days or on weekdays I am not working, we do long walks (3-5 miles) or hikes. We also play games - I have a dog "puzzle board" with varying degrees of difficulty, and I hide treats in cardboard boxes or paper bags for the dog to sniff out. Everybody is a winner with these games!
