Safety, trust & environment

I make sure my dogs are fed, watered, exercised, and trained every day. I like training and exercising in the morning to keep their energy under control while I work during the day. I crate my dogs when no one watches them to provide them with a den to sleep in. When I come home for the day, they are let out and relieved, allowed to play, and so on. I snuggle and talk to them at night. If someone trusts me enough to watch their animals, I would tend to their animals any way I expect someone to tend to mine: with knowledge and care.

Information Elisabeth E. would like to know about your pet

I need to know everything about your animal you want me to know. I studied animal care for both wild and domestic animals, injured and healthy, for many years. While I specialize in care for wild big cats, I owned and cared for dozens of dogs, cats, birds, rodents, and fish. I studied some Animal Health Sciences during my time at SDSU, and I know how to handle many medical emergencies. I also know many signs an animal gives before heat stroke, hypothermia, soreness, and other potentially serious situations. I've also been trained to prevent many of these situations. Does your animal need special treatment while under my care? I would require that info.

A typical day

Days I work are the most stressful to my animals. After I wake up and prepare myself for the day, I water the dogs. My dogs need to be watered small amounts very frequently while I'm home, or they will drink uncontrollably and vomit a large amount of water about 5 minutes later. Not exaggerating. Vet's orders. Anyway, they are watered 1/2 cup every 30 mins. So, we begin our day at 5am with a drink, then I take the dogs outside. I do warm-ups and stretches while the dogs relieve themselves. I clean it up and throw it away. Then we run. My dogs are energetic, but older, so we can't run as far as we used to. Typically, I walk them one city block as a warm up for them, a steady dog-trot pace. For about three city blocks, we run at Amora's pace (she's my lower stamina dog, and slower than tempy) then slow back down to a sniffing walk for one city block. We would have returned ho.e by now, about 10-15 minutes of jogging. By now the dogs would be hot and thirsty, so we return inside immediately and give the pups another 1/2 cup. I let them cool off by preparing their "games". For their breakfast I usually dispense it via training and learning. Basically, most of their "treats" are their basic food. As the vet told me to shed a couple pounds from each dog, I give them a couple of cups of kibble each per day. Half a cup of kibble goes to morning sits, lie downs, comes, and so on. One half cup will go towards their puzzle toys, kings, and so on. Finally, one special reward is hidden under a cup, in a kennel, or under a table. The dog finds it, she keeps it. After that, I do a few chores around my house, and water the dogs again. When I'm done with my chores, I brush ma pups. I water them again, take them outside once more, then retire them to their kennels for the day. I make sure the ac is on, turn on the dog radio on Pandora, shut all blinds, turn off all lights, and lock my door. I don't see them again until after work. I come home open the kennel, and water them. Then I grab the leashes, a ball, and head outside. We play ball on leash for a few minutes and let the dogs relieve themselves. We come back in and I care for my plants while my dogs relax and roam around my apartment. We kinda chill for the night. I give them water while enjoying my hobbies, them hanging out, usually lying down. They sleep anywhere they want except our bed at night. This is so We can all sleep, and so everyone has room to sleep peacefully.

In the morning, I tend to my dogs' physical and mental well being by daily walks and obedience tricks, as well as daily games. I go to work and I assume they sleep. I come home and let them outside for their bathroom break, and I feed them, then snuggle them and play with them at night. Pretty average care.
