Furmom to the rescue

Pet care experience

I have had dogs for most of my adult life and can't imagine my life without one! I have worked with dogs of varying breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I believe in positive reinforcement and am a patient caregiver. I like to make up fun and engaging games to stimulate my pets and keep them moving. Consistency is key, so I make sure to maintain a schedule so pets stay content.

Unfortunately, our dog's stay didn't work out well with Elisa. Elisa didn't have a chance to meet our dog, Dirk beforehand so understand that sometimes personalities aren't a good fit. But, I was disappointed with how Elisa handled the situation once she realized Dirk wasn't a good fit. 1. She texted me at 7:00AM the next day letting me know that Dirk wasn't a good fit. And that she was planning to take hit to the local Pet Smart, which was NOT okay with me. 2. She offered to drop him off with another Rover sitter, but was impatient with time. She texted 45 minutes later to see if we had found someone. I was still waiting to hear back from other sitters, and ended up boarding him because she seemed impatient. 3. She wasn't very apologetic which was also frustrating. She also ended up causing a huge panic for us while we were driving as we tried to figure out what to do for our dog as we're 200 miles away. We ended up paying $80 more than we were expecting, since we had to urgently board him at a place that was higher in price. I think if your dog is a good fit for Elisa, things may work out better for you. But don't expect too much trouble shooting or problem solving if things don't go well. We've had 4 other Rover sitters watch Dirk successfully, and understand that some sitters are better suited for some dogs than others.

The dogs I care for love it when we go for walks, play games of fetch with their favorite toy, play hide and seek for treats, enjoy snuggles and cuddles on the couch, and of course, serve up a pup cup for good behavior.
