Media city dog lover home all day :)

Pet care experience

I have owned and cared for dogs all my life, my only regret is that I’m not in a position to own one full time. I have experience with rescues, including reactive dogs, and I volunteer in a rescue centre for abandoned street dogs. I’m first and foremost a carer, so always want to make sure that you and your pet are happy with me. I am open to criticism and instructions and always keen to improve my service to make life easier for you and your best friend. I want to adapt your your routine and training style to make the transition as easy as possible. I have a great deal of experience training dogs, and we all know that it’s difficult to maintain training every day, so I also offer little training boosters and boot camp services. For this I use no negative enforcement, only positivity and (healthy) treats. Fun and stimulating training for me and the doggies!

Elinor was knowledgeable and empathetic towards our rather nervous dog. She took the trouble to find out Sky’s routine so that she could make the stay as familiar as possible, and she kept us updated during the stay. Sky was pleased to see Elinor following on from the meet and greet, and was chilled when she returned after the stay. We will be booking again with Elinor.

Goldie had such a great stay with Elinor, she kept us informed with photos and messages about how he was doing and I would not hesitate to leave Goldie with her again. Thanks so much!!

Elinor was fantastic. My dog had such a lovely time with her and even after 1 visit my dog had already settled and clearly felt very comfortable. Elinor was very easy to work with in regards to drop off and pick up, she kept up communication and updates throughout the day about how they were getting on, and gave my dog a loving home to be in whilst I was at work. Would definitely recommend and will be using her from now on.

Elinor looked after our 10 month old puppy overnight, she was very friendly, accommodating and flexible. Our puppy had a great time, was clearly at ease with Elinor and super tired by the time we picked her up! She’s looking forward to her next holiday with Elinor already!

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a small apartment near media city where I am around all day. There is room for a crate if required but most dogs are happy free roaming, with those staying overnight either choosing to take themselves to bed or snuggle up with me in mine! Due to the nature of apartment living, there is often noise from the corridor, for example doors opening and closing and people talking. Please consider whether this is something your dog would be comfortable with, as noises like this in the home can be a trigger for anxiety. If in doubt please contact me to arrange a meeting to see if your dog is happy and settled:

Information Elinor J. would like to know about your pet

As much information as you can give me will allow me to give your dog the best time, and give you peace of mind that your best friend is having the best care available. Any problems I assure you I can cope with, but the more I know prior the better I can prepare. For boarding is helpful to know a dog’s bathroom routine; when they need to go out in the morning, last thing at night, and frequency during the day. Are they reliable off lead? I have a 10m training leash which I trail as a safety precaution in the park for owners who are happy for their dog to be off lead with me. Walkies! How many daily? How long? Do they prefer to stop and sniff or walk as far as possible? Let me know your dog’s favourite things to do so I can make their stay as fun as possible :)

A typical day

This all depends on the dog! I live close to a park for dogs that just love playing with other dogs or chasing a ball, perfect for using up energy for those excitable breeds. For those who prefer a quiet stroll with few people and dogs I prefer the river or the canal which is usually much quieter. In the house, I love playing with all sorts of toys, as well as using play as a training exercise. Of course, all dogs need their space, and I always respect a dog’s boundaries and personal space. My favourite activity of all has to be a snuggle on the sofa after a long walk!
