Will treat your dog like its my own

Pet care experience

PERSONAL BACKGROUND: Hi, my name is Eli. I have loved and cared for dogs my entire life. In the past, I have owned two dogs of my own and have taken care of many of my friend’s dogs. I have about 15 years of experience being a dog caregiver and have experience caring for many different types of dogs. I am capable of checking on your dog multiple times a day, as well as take them out to run around in our fenced-in background at least once a day. Please see reviews for additional information. WHY I BECAME A DOG SITTER: As I mentioned, I have always loved dogs. As a first-year law student, caring for dogs is a great source of stress relief. I will treat your dog as if they are my own and make sure they get the quality care that they deserve. LIVING ENVIORNMENT: I am currently living with my family of five, so there will always be someone in the house who can care for and spend time with your dog. As mentioned above, I have a large fenced-in backyard with many toys and a shallow, kiddie pool for hot summer days if your dog likes the water. There is also a handicapped-accesible ramp from the deck to the backyard that we built for our first dog, Jake, when he began to have hip problems. This gives elderly dogs easy access to the backyard. PERSON PET INFO: We recently adopted a Chihuahua-dachshund rescue who is very nice and friendly. However, due to her small statue, we tend to keep her separated from larger dogs. When they are separated, the visiting dogs will get the whole upstairs and half of the downstairs, including part of the family room where they will be permitted on furniture and be able to spend time with the family. We also have a friendly little blind cat (also a rescue), who mostly hides in my parent’s room. If your dog is not friendly with other dogs or cats, I can easily arrange for them to not come into contact with each other, and I will make the safety and comfort of your dog a top priority. OTHER: I have experience giving dogs medication, such as oral pills, ear drops, and skin ointments. I have experience caring for both puppies and elderly dogs. I have experience training dogs, so if there are any tricks or behaviors you are trying to teach them, I can help. REQUESTED INFORMATION: - whether or not your dog has any allergies and if they are typically allowed to have human food. - Whether or not your dog has any other health problems. - Medication they need to take - Their typical feeding schedule - How they let you know its time to go out - Any triggers for anxiety they may have DURING THE STAY: I will walk your dog around the neighborhood or the nearby park, if they are comfortable with car rides. I typically go to Lake Benson or White Deer Park, which are both about 10 minutes away. Your dog can sleep in my bed room or on the couch. If they are more comfortable sleeping in their crate, that can also be set up.

I was happy with my dog’s stay with Eli until I unpacked his stuff and saw that he hadn’t been given his allergy medicine or probiotics the whole time we were gone. Eli and I reviewed this at the meet and greet and the information is in my dog’s profile, plus instructions were written on the bags containing the medicine. Disappointing. Now I have to do major paw treatments and try to get his hair to grow back.

I have an anxious dog and he loves Elijah! I don’t have to worry about them at all when they’re with him

If you're considering booking Eli for sitting services, PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW. I have to rate him with at least 1 star, but If I could give him 0 stars I would. Eli presented well. Has a great bio, lots of good reviews, meet and greet went well. When I dropped my dog off I was upset (first time being away from him and he's only 4 mo old). Eli sent me a video within 20 minutes assuring me Henry was already doing well. This was awesome and set my mind at ease. Communication while I was away left a little to be desired. I had to initiate communication most of the time. And I would receive very brief responses. Not a huge deal, just frustrating. On the day I was to pick Henry up, Eli asked if I could come early at 5 pm...even though I had already made it clear that my flight landed at 5:15. I was told Eli's brother would be there to give me Henry and he would be ready to go. I was also told that Henry somehow made it into a koi pond and had been given a bath. I picked Henry up and within 1 minute (we weren't even out of the neighborhood) Henry peed in the backseat. I pulled over on the side of the road and let him out. He immediately pooped. It takes A LOT for a dog to pee in a car. Henry has been fully potty trained for several weeks. This means Henry hadn't been let out FOR HOURS. When I asked Eli about it, he said he had a significant problem with Henry peeing and pooping in the house. He refused to the bathroom go outside. This was never brought to my attention. I reminded Eli that in his bio he states that he walks dogs around the neighborhood. Had he done this there wouldn't have been any problems. Henry is fully leash trained and Eli confirmed this during meet and greet. Eli responded that he did walk Henry around the neighborhood. But not one of Henry's poop bags was used (brand new roll). Eli claims he used his own poop bags. Yeah, not buying it. The night I brought Henry home, he had an upset tummy. It was obvious, by his poop, he had been into something. You could see it all in his poop. As the night progressed this turned into severe diarrhea (not just loose poop, but pure liquid). this lasted until Sunday afternoon and I picked him up Friday evening. Henry was also scratching really bad. It got to the point where he started to whimper and I worried he would break the skin. I had to bathe him at 3 am. He was either not rinsed well or cheap products were used after the koi pond incident...probably both. Goldendoodle's are notorious for having very sensitive skin. I worried that the koi pond would've had a lot of bacteria. Eli sent me a pic with Henry covered head to toe in mud and wrote in the text "LOL"...he thought the whole situation was funny, even though it was very obvious I was upset. I didn't get this pic until after I had picked Henry up. When I met Eli he assured me Henry would be fully supervised...he obviously wasn't. He's 4 mo old and Eli's backyard is large and full of junk. The amount of mud on Henry was indicative of him having spent some time in the pond. All dogs should stay away from standing water as it contains a large amount of bacteria that can be fatal, but especially puppies. Communication with Eli has been frustrating. He has changed his story multiple times and back peddles when confronted. If you don't mind your dog being left alone and just shoved outside to roam in a backyard, then Eli is your guy...but you could find someone to do this much cheaper for you. If you actually want your dog taken care of, supervised, and walked, find someone else. Seriously, there are so many people on this app who would actually love your dog. go with one of them.
