Eli and I lived together as roommates and best friends for basically 9 consecutive years. We got a puppy together right at the beginning, raised her together, and took care of her in a loving, attentive home for all of those 9 years. Eli is incredibly loving and fond of all pets. He also got a cat a few years later to join our household, and he adores her. I never doubted his devotion to our dog or doubted that he would keep his share of responsibility in caring for her. He is the one responsible for diligently teaching her all of the tricks she knew, patiently rewarding her with treats and love.
