Pet care experience
Hello! I'm Eli, I'm 27 years old and live in North Charleston. I am available for dog walking/enrichment visits, pet sitting, or house sitting. I've had cats, dogs, and fish my entire life and always pet sat for family and friends growing up. I have worked in cat care and rescue for 7+ years, have fostered kittens, and am familiar with some special needs/senior care. My friends always tell me "I am the friend of all animals" and I'm very patient with animals that may take time to warm up. Over the years, I have met so many animals with temperaments and personalities all across the spectrum, so I feel comfortable with animals some may consider to be more "challenging". The most common concern I have heard from pet owners is finding someone for their animals that are more timid with strangers, but I have learned a lot about working with cats and dogs with this temperament. I am happy to talk in more detail if you have questions regarding any of the above! I look forward to hearing from you and meeting your furry (or scaly) kids soon! :) I am a student at the College of Charleston, but a majority of my classes are online, so I can work from anywhere and have a lot of availability during my week and weekends. I am trying to leave my food Bev job to be with your babies full-time because of how much joy it brings me. When I am scheduled there, it is usually 2 nights a week (typically ~4pm-8/9pm). However, I won't need to be gone for long if I will be staying overnight and shifts are usually easy to get covered/moved around, if necessary. I am very respectful of my client's home. I grew up with a mom who is very clean and organized and I have adopted those same qualities. Also, as a pet owner, I understand the need to clean daily (nothing is more frustrating than coming home to a dirty house!). I will always strive to leave your home even cleaner than how I found it. Nothing is more important to me than respecting your animals and your space. For example, I am currently hired as a dog walker for someone and even though she does not ask me to do this, I will bring her mail in for her, clean up any accidents in the home, and bring her trash cans up on trash days. Overall, I want to make your life easier and less stressful where I can and aim to provide the same level of care I look for in my own pet sitter.
Reviews
Can’t recommend Eli enough! My dogs absolutely love him.
I cannot say enough great things about Eli! Great communication, left our house immaculate, and took such great care of our 2 crazy chocolate labs! We for sure will be using Eli again in the future.
Best of the best! I can’t recommend Eli enough. I just moved to a new city and I am so relieved to find someone I can trust with my 4 animals. My dogs absolutely love him, all Rover cards were sent with thorough detail and right on time. Eli went above and beyond and even spent extra time with my animals to keep them company. The description in Eli’s profile describes his level of service perfectly, you can tell he truly cares and loves animals. Thank you, Eli.
Our girls had another great stay with Eli. We have a 14.5 year old that requires a little more attention these days, and Eli was wonderful with her.

When I stay in someone’s home, I try to spend a majority of my time there to make sure their pet is receiving as much attention, play time, and care as possible!
Information Eli B. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know any special needs or potentially unexpected behavior of your animal ahead of time. This will allow me to determine if I have the time and abilities to properly care for your animal :)
A typical day
We will spend a lot of time outside playing and going on long walks. I like to frequently change up the route so the dogs will stay curious, find new smells, and be excited for their walk. With more timid dogs, I will dedicate a lot of time to sitting on the ground (so I'm less threatening to them) and working with them at their own pace. I like to keep treats in my pocket to encourage any behavior that shows signs of warming up. If you have any special activities or toys your dog enjoys, I would love to incorporate them into my visits!
