Seeking: high energy, active, pups!
Pet care experience
I have cared for animals since I can remember and am also an ally for all animals and their rights. I have experience with needy pets, those with fear and anxiety, and others that need particular medication on a strict and tight schedule. I will not interfere with any training and know how important it is to continue the protocol for puppies. As a child, I had a dog, guinea pigs, and hamsters to care for my own. During my teen years, our family had cats. During college, I cared for my cat and a bird while my roommates had additional cats and lizards. When living in China, my partner and I adopted a very ill cat. With limited resources there and quality care, we nursed her to a very healthy cat that now resides happily with her dog, cat, and human friends. I also did some pet fostering for pet rescue programs in Shanghai. Our household used to have cats, but they have all gone on to their next lives, and now we have a seven-month-year-old hound puppy. I have experience caring for senior and ill cats but also have the high energy for a puppy that requires a lot of attention. I'm a very patient person with animals. I'm also athletic. I can handle most any type of animal. As a cyclist, I've learned very well how to talk and work with unfamiliar dogs and show little fear. With belly rubs and kisses, I will become part of the pack in no time. Aaaaand, since I'm a freelance photographer, who knows what kind of pet portraits you'll receive when I part ways with my new furry friends.
Reviews
Eleanor was amazing with our 9 month old puppy! She sent lots of pictures and updates throughout the week while we were on vacation. My kids especially appreciated the daily pics! She took our dog on tons of walks to get his puppy energy out and left the house very clean. We hope to book her again next time we need a pet sitter!
Eleanor was a top notch caregiver. She was on time, thorough, and energetic - that’s how I knew she was the right fit for my crazy girl, Willow. I felt confident that she was receiving the best care and attention during my week away. Planning to use her services again in the future. Thanks so much, Eleanor!
Eleanor's love of animals is pure and was evident in the way that she cared for my old man. I could immediately tell that they were going to enjoy their time together - and their pictures were clear evidence of! I even saved a couple because they were so cute. Thank you thank you Eleanor - can't wait to have you back!!
She is wonderful with our dogs and cares for our place as though iris her own home.

I am honest, clean, and respectful of other people's homes and spaces. When I am a guest at friends' homes, I've always been told I leave a place like I never was there. I was raised to leave a place better than I found it. I do have a (Wilderness) First Responder Course, so I know how to remain calm and use my resources in case there is an emergency with anyone around me or in the area. I am attentive to animal's needs and they will the biggest priority. They will be treated better than family.
Information Eleanor M. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know what special needs your pet may have. I have had clients make short videos of how to prep medicines into different types of food. That really helps remove any gray areas to make sure your dog is well taken care of. Energy level isn't a concern for me. I'm content sitting with a book or going for miles down the trails. Please understand that I will not accept 30 minute drop ins for high energy dogs or puppies. I have done this in the past and end up spending 60-90 minutes with dogs because it’s not fair to them for such a short walk.
A typical day
I have the energy like a retriever and sometimes a similar attention span. I'm an avid outdoors person, ultra cyclist, and long-distance hiker. There are so many beautiful trails and we will go at their pace and distance. Perhaps dogs prefer to go to parks or just the backyard. I love getting down on the ground and playing with dogs, as if I'm part of the pack.

I am a freelancer (20 years) and currently developing some writing projects for publications and a book. My freelance assignments usually give me a week's notice so I am easily adaptable to you and your pet's schedule. I like to take walks, in the city or the park, or the woods for my health and would love to have some four legged company. I completed the "world's most difficult bike race" last summer so stamina won't be an issue. If I am hired to stay at your home with your pets, I have many writing projects and my foreign language studies that I can bring. (I speak Mandarin Chinese and currently learning Tibetan.) I'm sure if you have cats, they would love to push books off the table or curl up on my lap. Or a dog to distract me when I'm looking for a reason to procrastinate. I am not married and have no children. So there will be no last-minute emergencies or changes to our schedule. Your pets will receive all my attention and love.
