Pet care experience
I love to have dogs in my life! I grew up with a beautiful Portuguese Water Dog, Max, whom I helped care for throughout his 14 years of life! I used to walk Max regularly, feed him, and play with him. As he grew older, he began to have eye problems, so I have experience administering eye drops to dogs, as well as oral medications. I also know how to be patient: both with young, energetic puppies and with very old, slow dogs. These past two years, I lived with and helped care for my roommate's Miniature Goldendoodle, Bella. In addition to taking care of live-in pets for weeks or weekends while the owner was away, I have done dog sitting as a paid position. I also used to volunteer at a local dog shelter, Save a Dog, where I took care of dogs that had been mistreated and were not well-socialized.

Elana was a great walker, she arrived promptly, was very good with my dog. I would definitely recommend her to anyone whose pup needs a quick, solid walk.
Elana loves animals, and helped care for our family pet, a Portuguese Water Dog named Max, from the time he came to our family as a puppy until his death at the age of 14, a year ago. Elana is extremely responsible, and has held regular jobs since she was 15, from being a library page in our public library to serving as head lifeguard at a neighborhood pool, to more recently working in service-related nonprofits, working at a residential school for girls, and working as a program assistant in a nonprofit focusing on mental health. She has also served as a dog walker for friends and neighbors through the years.

I love all dogs equally! I would like to know favorite walking places and games. Also, if the he or she has any behavioral issues around certain types of dogs or people (ex. my dog growing up always barked at "pointy-eared dogs"). Please let me know if your dog has any food issues as well!
A typical day
Going on walks in the woods is the best, but we will also enjoy local parks and saying hi to other dog friends. We can play "doggie bowling" (also known as fetch), "spin the dog" (a circular game of chase typically involving rope toys), and cuddling if you canine companion is so inclined. I am very open to suggestions!
