I’ve been dog sitting for my aunt’s dog grooming/boarding business on and off ever since I was 13 years old. I enjoy animals so much that I made it my degree at Penn State with the intention of going pre-veterinary, with a strong interest in pet nutrition. Soon after graduation, I worked at a local pet health store where I learned even more about companion animal nutrition. (Feel free to ask me any questions about this, I’d love to discuss food brands if your pet is suffering from allergies or any other issues. I will also gladly address any digestion issues your pet may have while you’re away by adding yogurt and pumpkin to their diet, or ground beef and rice if necessary (with your permission of course).) God had better plans though and my husband and I began our family soon after we got married. I also took up pet sitting while my husband was active duty military and had regular customers on base for boarding and house sitting. We’re very blessed and I’m just looking for a way to make some extra money to help my husband out and pay off our debt faster while being able to stay home and homeschool our children. I absolutely love dogs and cats and always love taking care of them (I think it’s the mother in me) and would love to make sure your sweet pet is well cared for while you are away!

Elaine S. Took such excellent care of my golden doodle, Patton. He is a "special needs" dog with some health issues. He requires a lot of special care and not everyone would be willing to put the xtra time in to his feedings and still be so loving. Patton loves her children as well. I am blessed to have Elaine to board him with. I don't know what we would do without Elaine S. Thank you so much.

I can’t thank Elaine enough and I’m so appreciative of how well she treats my dogs. Made sure to give me updates on my dog who was sick and gave my dog her daily medication. I always feel at ease knowing my dogs are in great hands with Elaine and are having the best time! Thank you for everything, as always! They love you
Elaine was wonderful with our Lottie girl! Communication was great throughout, she was kind and considerate when we had something last minute come up on our end, and she clearly loves animals and is very knowledgeable about them. Would 100% have our pup stay with Elaine again.

For the pet’s safety and my children’s safety, I do crate overnight and while I am outside the house for grocery shopping, kids’ sports, etc. I would never want anything to happen to your pet! I do ask that your pup be crate trained if you would prefer to book with me. Dogs are let out for potty breaks every 2-3 hours during school breaks where we play fetch and let them stretch, especially if it’s a beautiful day out! I let them roam the house as much as I am able and I’ll play tug of war or rub their belly if they ask. ☺️ My children especially love animals and will offer so much love and attention to your pet while you’re away.

I’d greatly appreciate knowing if the pet requires medication or is afraid of things like thunder storms or being alone ahead of time to prepare to properly meet the animal’s needs. Disclaimer: I will charge the holiday rate at $55/day for Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday. Rover does not recognize Easter as a federal holiday so they do not automatically apply the holiday rate in your booking request. I will add this later if you do decide to book with me and will update the correct price before you confirm the booking.
A typical day
We live on 100 acres so there is PLENTY of room to exercise any dogs that may visit! No dog is EVER left unattended, your pet’s safety is a top priority. On beautiful days I’d love to take your dog for a walk with my kids where they’ll be well-socialized with many farm animals on our country dirt road. Horses walking down our road during the summertime is especially a common occurrence. My children will also happily wear them out daily with love and exercise!

Availability
I stay at home full-time to homeschool my kids so my schedule is extremely flexible, especially during summer and holidays when we are off school. Last-minute bookings are happily accepted!
