Pet care experience
I had a dog for many years and loved it like my child. During that time I also was the go to sitter for all my sisters, nephews and nieces dogs. After my pup passed, I haven’t been able to get another dog but still take care of all the family pups when needed. Generally staying with them, letting them out throughout the day, walks, etc. each pups needs are different but they all need some love and attention.

Elaine was fantastic! She watched our 3 doggos while we were gone for a week and they were definitely well taken care of. They enjoyed walks, playing and snuggles. We will definitely be using her again soon!

As I don’t offer in house (we have an aging cat that doesn’t play nice with pups), I will follow and respect the pet owners requests for care at their house. Crates during the day, feeding and walking schedules, sleeping arrangements, etc.

I think it is important for the owner and I to discus specific behaviors that the dog may have. Are they reactive to other dogs and we need to avoid them, do the pull heavily on a leash, do they try to escape out the door, do they resource guard food or toys? Is there specific wording used for training, etc. I like to discuss all of this with the owner when I meet the pups.
A typical day
I enjoy going on multiple walks with pups, including one that is mostly them sniffing. I also enjoy taking dogs to parks to play fetch with a chuck it. Sometimes I enjoy taking them on hikes. Really though, each dog is different and will enjoy different things. Maybe it’s not as active of a dog and we do an enrichment mat or training instead. I discuss this with each owner so each dog gets individualized care.

Availability
I am a massage therapist with my own successful clinic. I only work 3-4 days per week and can arrange my schedule as needed. I have flexibility to take care of your pups needs. I enjoy hiking so if appropriate and discussed with the owner, pups may join me on small hikes.
