VERY DISAPPOINTED We used to hired Elaine for house sitting and off course we trusted her BUT this last time we caught her lying about the time she spent at our house taking care of the pets. Later she confronted us saying that “house sitting” was only: going to sleep to the house. For what she arrived 10pm and left 6am every day. And that she came to see my pets one hour a day AS A FAVOR because we were not paying her for that. And she even said something like: If you don’t like it, call for another pet sitter. She lied, had attitude and the most important: What time my pets were fed? 11pm? If she even fed them. What time they were take for a walk? What time she played with them? Of course as you can imagine this wasn’t the arrangement we had with her. As we were in other continent, we tried to manage the situation the best way possible but as she was already exposed for her lies and with a terrible attitude she immediately call Rover to cancel the reservation saying she had an emergency. Can you imagine being in the other side of the world and not knowing who is going to take care of your pets now? This happened approximately on the 3-4 day of the 15 day reservation we had with her. Luckily Rover helps us to find another pet sitter. Again we are very disappointed with her actions and we don’t even want to think she’s being doing THIS all the times we hired her. How naive we were. LEARNING EXPERIENCE FROM THIS: 1st: Never paíd in cash to the pet sitter. Always do it through the app so if you have a similar situation like this one, Rover will help you out. (To be clear we never paid Elaine with cash but we used to do it with another sitter) 2nd: Get cameras inside and outside your house with “life feed recorder”. We use to have cameras with life feed and we check them from time to time but since we got the recorder service we could check at the end of our day what was going on during the day and this is how we caught her lying. 3rd: Check the cameras. Don’t trust 4th: Don’t hire Elaine. You don’t want to pay a pet sitter to come to your house at 10pm and leave 6am. Ps: Just in case this happened at the begging of the year, before all these Coronavirus came to the US.

Elaine was wonderful! We came home to a clean house and happy dogs! Thank you so much for house sitting and watching our dogs while we were it if town!
