We needed a dog sitter at short notice and Katie came to the rescue. She was extremely thorough, came over to meet Roman before she looked after him, was very professional asking lots of questions about him, his routine, what he likes/doesn’t like etc etc. She kept us updated every day with videos and photos and Roman was having a great time. He was very happy and calm when we returned and we will definitely be using Katie again. Thank you for your help.

Katie came to see us before we needed her to look after Hazel, so she could meet her. During that visit, Katie asked a lot of questions so she could understand Hazel’s requirements. I was so impressed with her visit and the nature of her questions as it showed me, she had Hazel’s best interests at heart. When she looked after Hazel she kept me updated the whole time with photos and let me know about walks and playtime. I would recommend Katie to anyone who needs someone to look after their dog.

Katie did a great job looking after our two Labradors and staying at our home. She also kept an eye on our two pet sheep and chickens! She kept us updated and put our mind at rest. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

1) Health and Medical Information: It's crucial for me to know if the dog has any medical conditions, allergies, or requires medication. Details about their veterinarian, recent vaccinations, and any ongoing treatments are essential. 2) Diet and Feeding Instructions: the dog's dietary preferences, feeding schedule, portion sizes, and any dietary restrictions. 3) Behavior and Temperament: dog's behavior around other animals, children, and strangers will help me to anticipate their reactions and create safe interactions. Information about any anxieties, fears, or triggers is valuable. 4) Exercise Needs: dog's energy levels and preferred types of physical activity (e.g., long walks, playtime, running) so I can plan appropriate exercise routines. 5) Daily Routine: dog's daily routine, including wake-up times, meal times, bathroom breaks, and bedtime, so I can maintain familiarity and consistency. 6) Comfort Items: toys, blankets, or other items that provide comfort to the dog. 7) Commands and Training: any commands the dog knows, as well as any ongoing training. 8) Emergency Contacts 9) Favorite Activities 10) Special Care Instructions: grooming, specific care routines, or restrictions 11) Crate Training: if the dog is crate trained and if they need to be crated at any point during my care.

A typical day

A typical day starts with a warm and early morning greeting for the doggy under my care. After feeding and taking care of any immediate needs, we usually head out for a morning walk to a nearby park or nature trail. Once we return, playtime ensues! Engaging in interactive games, such as fetch, tug-of-war, and hide-and-seek, keeps their minds stimulated and energy levels in check. For dogs that enjoy a good challenge, puzzle toys and treat-dispensing toys are also part of the day's entertainment. After all the excitement, a relaxing period follows. Dogs are given time to rest, nap, and recharge. Some furry companions enjoy cuddling or lying in the sun, while others prefer their cozy beds for a snooze. In the afternoon, we embark on another outing—this time, perhaps to a dog-friendly beach or a different scenic route. Change of scenery and new smells contribute to a fulfilling experience for the dogs. (Depending on your location and dog’s transportability). Back home, a nutritious meal is served, followed by some more playtime and interaction. Training sessions may be integrated to reinforce good behavior and keep their minds active. As the day winds down, we engage in a calm and soothing activity, like gentle grooming or a massage, which provides comfort and strengthens the bond between the dogs and me. Ultimately, the day revolves around meeting each dog's unique needs, preferences, and energy levels. Every dog's personality shapes the activities and outings, ensuring that they have a joyful, enriching, and balanced experience under my care.
