Your doggie will be spoiled!
Pet care experience
Hello! My husband Dave and I both love dogs, and we both grew up with canines and felines. Logistics prevents us from owning a full-time dog with the care and attention we believe that all dogs deserve. Please help us to get our doggie fix! Our home is a spacious two-bedroom, one and a half bath on NYC's Upper West Side. We're directly on Central Park West, and your dog will love his/her walks there. Your dogs are always welcome to sit on the couch or anywhere else they please. At night, small and medium dogs are welcome to sleep with us if the owner permits. We are pretty laid back about such things. I am "semi-retired" and work mostly out of my home. Either Dave and I or both are here at home most of the time. Dave is an Emergency First Responder instructor. He knows how to administer shots, and both of us can give oral meds. We will LOVE your dog!!! Lots of petting and treating and special attention. Dave specializes in ear rubs (guaranteed to have your dog in a coma in no time), and my specialty is rump scratches and belly rubs. We'll spoil him or her rotten, but oh well, they deserve it. TIPS FOR A GREAT VISIT *Please ensure that you leave care instructions on your dog's Rover profile. *Bring at least a days' extra food. Flights can get canceled, traffic happens, it's far better to be safe than sorry. *Please bring poop bags! It's the most commonly forgotten item. I recommend the compostable ones. They are more expensive but SO much better quality. Amazon has a whole selection of them.
Reviews
Eileen and Dave took excellent care of Preston. Eileen shared photos of him throughout the day with a description of their activities - it looked like he had a fantastic upper west side day in the park! He was definitely spoiled and I felt lucky knowing he had such great company while I was out for the day. Thank you, Eileen and Dave!!!
Athena had a great time! Eileen sent tons of pictures and kept me well updated on the day to day activities!
Nina had a great time staying at Eileen's home! The location was very convenient for the park and the spacious apartment allowed for a lot of indoor games of catch. Eileen was also great about sending updates and pics while Nina was staying with her.
5 + stars ⭐️⭐️! As a first timer to Rover , I was quite nervous about leaving my dog for a week in an unfamiliar setting . Eileen eased my concerns right away . She was communicative with me everyday and sent pictures all the time of my dog enjoying the company of both Eileen and her husband Dave as well as the walks and playful games that any dog loves. I was truly delighted when I arrived to pick up my pup , that she hesitated upon leaving because she clearly had fun and was taken good care of . It was a pleasure to me . Wonderful

I live in a dog-friendly elevator building with a wonderful and dog-loving staff. Your dog will get an extra pet or scratch from doorman each time he/she takes a walk.

Information Eileen M. would like to know about your pet
I would really like to know how the dog reacts to other dogs before I sit with him/her . I go a different route for walks if I am aware that a particular dog does not do well with other dogs. Similarly, it would be helpful if I knew the dog's people skills, especially children. Most dogs are fine with humans but a confirmation would be helpful.
A typical day
Your doggie and I will walk up to Columbus Avenue, where a variety of vendors welcome dogs and keep treats behind the counter. That includes Chase (bank), Ivan Pharmacy, the wine store, and others. In nice weather, we will enjoy lunch at Milo's sandwich shop with outdoor seating. Central Park is just outside the front door of building, and naturally we walk there quite a bit. There is a group of dog owners and walkers there in the early morning, and if appropriate your doggie can socialize with other dogs and run around a bit. My building also has a large lobby a large playroom/laundry room. The floor that I'm on also has a long hallway. Depending on weather and dog, I've had doggies who just raced around the floor or downstairs in playroom/laundry. I bring a ball and play fetch. Gives them good exercise and they love it!

I'm semi-retired and am glad to spend lots of time with your dog. I enjoy taking dogs along on my errands to local stores....many of which provide dog treats!
