Pet care experience
I am an educator on Summer Break looking to love on some dogs and cats! I have had cats my whole life. I currently have a 17+ year old long haired princess, who takes meds 2x per day, and is a little blind.... I had my first and only dog for 12+ years. He passed in October 2022. I learned many skills in caring for him, especially at the end when he required daily meds and help with mobility. We also had a surgery or three to recover from throughout his life, so I feel comfortable in those circumstances. My husband and I will get another/more dogs one day, but in the meantime, helping others with their pets feels right. I have been helping friends with walks and check ins the last few months, and have realized I really enjoy helping pets and their people have the best life. I went to a concert for a few hours and had Effie watch my dog while I was out.My dog loved spending time with her and I immediately felt at ease because she was so kind, down to earth and a huge dog lover. She took a lot of pictures and treated my dog as if she was her own. Highly recommend booking with Effie, she’s so sweet!

I have a fenced large backyard, and the first floor of my house is available for dogs to stay overnight. I regularly had sitters and walkers in my own home for my dog, and will respect your privacy, and will leave spaces as I found them. I used cameras in my home for my dog, and feel comfortable if you have them in your home.

How does your dog usually do on walks? Are there behaviors you would like me to reinforce and help train? How do they deal with other leashed dogs on walks? I understand consistence is key, and will strive to mimic your commands and expectations.
A typical day
I love playing fetch, reinforcing positive training, and talking healthy walks in new places. I pay close attention to your dog's body language and demeanor, and hope that walks can help them de-stress. I am attentive and love keeping a good pace.

I am flexible and available. I like to stay busy, and would love to even help with your pet related errands! I like waking up early, and would love to help some dogs get their steps in before it gets too warm during the hot days of summer.
