Pet care experience
I’m a member of the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue Foundation (Google DVGRR) and assist with intakes for them (31 intakes in 2017 alone). I personally have had three golden retrievers across the years, as well as a German Sheppard and grew up around large breed poodles: all were obedience trained by me, except for when I was a younger child – 54 now. I live five houses from beautiful Park Lake in Rockaway, NJ (photos posted). Your dog will be walked daily around the lake - which has a three-quarter mile paved and illuminated path around it, as well as outside time in the beautiful back yard here at my home. If you do not normally walk your dog this kind of distance, I need to know - especially for older dogs, as I do not want to physically stress them, which can easily be done in a short time frame such as a week-long stay. If you prefer a jog for your dog, I personally run laps around the same lake and can offer that instead of - or in addition to - a walk. If your dog likes “play time in the lake” during warmer weather, I’d gladly accommodate! If your pet sleeps on a dog bed, I have two Serta (Sertapedic) gel memory foam orthopedic dog-beds (photo posted) which provides therapeutic support, while easing discomfort of older dogs with hip dysplasia and arthritis. The bed has a washable cover which will be machine washed after each stay. Also, stainless steel water and food bowls are provided and sanitized twice daily during your pets stay. As for water, I only use "PUR" Maxion filtered water here (pic posted). I have over 35 years of dog ownership experience – the only reason I don’t currently have one of my own is because I occasionally travel for work, so I get my “dog fix” in by caring for other people’s dogs. : ) I have been a volunteer emergency medical technician and am familiar with how to perform K-9 CPR and the Heimlich maneuver on dogs (CPR on a dog is different from that of a human). During your pets stay with me, I attach one of my collar tags which has my contact info on it (my cell and house phone numbers, as well as my address). Your pet’s safety, security and comfort – as well as your piece of mind – are my priorities. I think you and your pet will find it quite a nice place to visit. Friends with pets that I sit for, fondly ask their dogs, “Do you want to go to Club Ed?” like it’s Club Med. Nothin' "RUFF" about the place! Book a three-night stay and get a free "Club Ed" T-shirt (see my photos for the shirt art)! I have my own website with a full years calendar posted at it - see my photos for more info. Best wishes, Ed

Our dog suffers from separation anxiety and it isn't always easy leaving him, but Ed did a great job making him feel comfortable and loved while we were away. It is obvious that he cares a lot about dogs, and takes great care of them. We will certainly use Ed in the future!
Ed was an an enthusiastic and thoroughly competent dog sitter. He was interested in everything about my 9 1/2 month golden so her care would be consistent. She got daily exercise, more than once a day. His home is immaculate and set up for dog fun as well as safety. He treated her like a member of his family. He also sent us daily pictures and updates about how she was doing. I was always confident that the dog was safe and cared for. Would recommend Ed to anyone worried about leaving their pet.
Pattie Girl had a great time at Club Ed! She loved her sunset walks around the lake and all the one on one attention. Ed took great care of our girl. He is passionate about dogs and it shows. He has a natural ability to gain their trust and he knows how to handle them. When we left we knew the Pattie was is good hands and Ed did not disappoint us. When we picked Pattie up she kept running between us and Ed. It was like she did not want to leave Ed and go home with us! It was the first time in many stays that she did not head for the door first. We highly recommend Ed's special brand of care and we will be sending Pattie back to Club Ed. Thank you Ed for all the pictures and the loving care that you gave Pattie!
My name is Joe Shoemaker and have known Ed Lowden a little over a year now and he has been driving from his home in North Jersey to Philly international airport to help out with my rescue acquiring Golden Retrievers from Puerto Rico. Ed is a dedicated dog owner and I would trust my Goldens with him anytime! Ed is a 34 year Veteran in the U.S.A.F. also! Thanks & Good Luck Ed!
