My family has had dogs in the house literally since the day I was born. Since then, we've had no less than 2 dogs and 2 cats. I learned how to take care of the pets at an early age, and my contribution to their well-being has not faltered. When I went away for college, I missed my pets so dearly that I decided to get one of my own. I adopted a dog (Jack) before I turned 19. Jack is a 50 lb standard poodle. At 8 years old, he is pretty much my shadow now, but because of his prior abuse he wasn't always like that. Together, we worked through his fears and insecurities and he now has a very healthy relationship with other dogs, cats, and humans. And pretty much everything else. Now, I live at home with my parents and sibling and our 4 dogs, 2 cats, 2 donkeys, and rabbit. One might say I can handle quite a few animals at one time. Our most recent addition, Miss Mazzy Star, is 3 months old and growing quickly. Mazzy will be the 2nd standard poodle puppy I've helped to train, with the first being my mom's, Sir Elvis Presley, who is now 3 years old. The 4th poodle is named Little Man Jagger, and he is 1.5 years old. I was away at college when he was a puppy.
