It was about 8:30a in the morning and I grabbed my dog's favorite toy, a couple plastic bags, and walked him to the park a few blocks aways. He stayed by my side the entire time. The moment we arrive, I took off his leash, told him, "sit, stay", walked backwards about 50 yards still facing him, and yelled, "Ok! Good boy!" He began to sprint toward me, stopping at my knees and I gave him a big hug. Then we played catch with his ball for the next 15-20min until I could tell he was tired. I anticipate the needs of dogs and make sure they feel safe around me. I've lived with dogs all my life except for the past 3 years, and regularly have been asked by friends and family to watch their pets. I'm available 6 days a week during the day, and some evenings. I understand that dogs are extremely sensitive to energy and require lots of positive reinforcement, just like a 5 year old kid.
