Not accepting new dog friends now

Pet care experience

Hello! I’m Dustin! Experience: I’ve grown up around dogs, and so experienced all stages of their life-cycle. I've had a great Pyrenees, a Chow, border collie and 4 mutts of I couldn’t even guess what admixture. Over the years I've taken care of friends dogs many times as they went out of town; I've always enjoyed it and my dogs love playing with new friends. I've been caring for dogs professionally since 2017. Becoming part of so many fantastic dogs lives has been an a privledge. Seeing dogs grow and change and creating long lasting relationships with both pups and owners is a deeply rewarding experience. My Dogs: Butter is our only dog as my good buddy Hank passed away. Butter (Cream colored Shepard Mix). She is very sociable and loves playing with new dogs and her repeat friend dogs who have been staying with us for years. Meet and Greet: Meet and greets are required so that you can get to know me and our dogs can get to know each other- this is probably the best way to determine if we're a good fit. Requirements: A) All dogs must be safe to bring around other dogs and humans. Our home is tranquil and safe for all dogs we agree to care for. Therefore we can not take aggressive dogs. B) All dogs have current flea and tick prevention, heartworm medication, and be up to date on their immunizations. This ensures both the safety of your pups, but all pups under our care. C) All dogs must be fully house-trained. Once is an accident, twice is a pattern. Special needs we regularly accommodate (These are just the most common; if your pup requires any specialized care not listed, please feel free to contact me) Senior dogs Separation anxiety General anxiety Specialized dietary requirements Oral and topical medication Special sleeping arrangements Special needs that we are not able to accommodate Injectable medication Incontinence, or dogs who are not fully housetrained Aggressive dogs Any and all treatments or procedures best left to a trained veterinarian Pick up and drop off: Normal drop off and pickup hours are from 7:30am to 9:30pm, but we can make exceptions (earlier or later) depending on your situation. Grace period: Life gets in the way of everyone’s best laid plans. I’d rather you occasionally arrive 30 minutes after you had planned if that means that you arrive safely. In the past I’ve had someone tell me that they rushed to get here by pickup time; please don’t! Safety first! Also, if something out of your control delays you more than 30 minutes (i.e. a traffic jam, delayed flight, sick child, really bad day at work etc) just tell me when you can and we can extend the grace period to accommodate. You don’t need to furnish the details; if you are one of our guest dog’s humans we like and trust you already.

It had been a few years since we had seen Dustin and he remembered Bo like it was yesterday. He loves every dog like his own and I'd recommend him to anyone.

Dustin is very thorough and caring with the dogs he looks after. He sent us photo updates of our dog which we loved! Dustin and his family are amazing and we were so lucky to have them watch our rodeo at Christmas!

About Our Home: My Wife and I live on a cul-de-sac with very little traffic. My back yard is completely fenced and large enough for them to run around and chase balls. Dogs are allowed on the furniture, and we also have dedicated dog beds. We make a variety of treats which we're happy to share with your pups.

Information Dustin K. would like to know about your pet

Anything and everything! The more I know about your pup, the better caretaker I can be. Tell me about your dog’s diet/ eating schedule (I make my dog’s food, so I completely understand) Are treats OK? If so, when? Does your dog have Anxiety with people or new dogs? Is Deputy-Dog a little shy, or a social butterfly? Does your dog want to run all day, or is fluffy more of a couch potato? Any Allergies? Need medication? Special needs? Where is Jabba-The-Mutt’s favorite place to be scratched? Does Sir Slobbers-A-Lot have flea/tick treatment? Are their shots up to date? Does your dog have any new or old injuries? Does Mr. Von-Dogenstein like to chew? If so, what? Is Poochie-Pie afraid of anything? (Hank startles every time a plastic bag crinkles) Please tell me anything else pertinent; I want your dog to have the best time here. Minimum training required: 1) Basic recall- It isn't safe for me to care for any dog who won't come within a reasonable amount of time when called. 2) Basic "stay/sit" command- I don't expect pups to stay for 5 minutes, but I need to separate dogs every day for eating (the sweetest doggo in the world can be resource aggressive) so having one dog sit still while I move another dog to a different room for feeding is paramount.

A typical day

Full Couch privileges Dedicated dog beds Filtered water (Reverse Osmosis) Dedicated Dog Room FAR too many Chuckit! Brand balls. I'll play catch with them every day Crates for sleeping/ privacy/ safety [Crates mimic the dens that Fluffo's ancestors made in the wild. They are for feelings of security and relaxation, not punishment; they will be open and available, but not mandatory] Large fully fenced in back yard Secluded doggy den for anxious or less social puppers. Home made treats What You Can Expect From Us: 1.) First and foremost is that once a dog enters my home, he/she is family. I'll care for your Fluff-o just like I care for mine. 2.) Your dog's safety is paramount; I'm home all day; I won't leave Capt. McFluffins alone. 3.) I'll send pictures 2 or 3 times a day, generally, but can send more or fewer at your request. 4.) Your doggos are fed separately- sometimes even the gentlest fluffos can become protective of their food. 5.) I will spend quality time playing with, petting and generally engaging with the new pack members 6.) My doggos very quickly take to new pack members, so they'll likely be fast friends. 7.) All guest potential guest dogs are very carefully assessed so you can be sure that every dog under my care will be safe and friendly with all other dogs. 8.) Home made treats include hard boiled eggs, chicken, sweet potato, pumpkin/peanut-butter treats. Assuming I have your permission and these don't conflict with your pup's dietary requirements or allergies, they're welcome to share them.
