Dulce has provided excellent care for my fur son Fiyero on numerous occasions. When he moved in with me three years ago, he was terrified of other people and would cower and hide. Dulce is the first human other than myself that he was able to trust. She was very patient with him and never forced him to interact, but she was right there to take advantage of his brave moments, provide affection, and offer reassurance. Fiyero’s temperament completely changed due to the love and encouragement that he received, and I credit Dulce with contributing to his ability to comfortably socialize with strangers now. He has special needs due to a rare genetic condition that caused him to lose most of his teeth (premolars and molars). For this reason, he needs to eat wet food. On top of that he also has food allergies. Dulce has watched Fiyero dozens of times when I have been out of town. When caring for him, Dulce has always followed his feeding instructions and he has never had an allergy flare up. He is always comfortable and happy when in her care. Additionally, I have seen the care that Dulce provides for her own dog Xitlali. She is a doting pet owner who puts hours of research into making sure that she provides the best life for her high-energy adolescent dog. She is very patient and intentional about training signals and believes in providing positive reinforcement. She takes Xitlali walking, on long hikes, or to the dog park regularly and they lead a very active lifestyle. Dulce cooks safe and healthy recipes for her dog to provide relief for an upset tummy or to provide her a special treat. Furthermore, I have seen Dulce interact with hundreds of dogs that she encounters in her neighborhood, the dog park, or those that belong to her friends. Dogs are naturally drawn to Dulce as if they can just sense that she is someone that can trust and that she will be an immediate friend. I highly recommend Dulce as a caregiver for any dog including those that have special needs, dogs who are reactive, or dogs that are high energy.
