Pet care experience
I grew up with no less than 3 dogs at time but unfortunately no longer have one of my own. In college and shortly after I started dog sitting for family members and close friends. For the last two years I’ve been watching dogs by recommendation with my girlfriend. I’ve enjoyed it so much that in my short hiatus from the corporate world I plan on boarding, walking, and providing daycare for doggos that need it. I live in a large apartment budded up against Piedmont but my parents have 20 fenced acres and two super friendly dogs for yours to play with. (If permitted by you of course). Drake is the first person we contact when we need pet care. We feel most comfortable leaving when we know our dog is with Drake. He clearly has a way of connecting with animals (and people! he’s awesome). We really appreciate how much time he actually spends with Boone, taking him on hikes and to the beach. I know he also has experience with general dog training (how to walk a dog safely on-leash, how to make animals safe in new spaces, simple commands, etc). Hes great with our big dog and he’s also very good with our friends’ smaller dogs.
Drake is the best dog sitter! He always is super attentive to my dogs needs. When doggy sitting, he will take her on many walks, to the dog park, and on fun hikes. He always provides me lots of updates and pictures of Blu. She loves to spend time with him now! Blu just adores him! He also has watched my other dog, Ivy. She is a handful but he is so good with her. He even works on her leash training and basic commands!

I live a half mile from a great dog park in Piedmont and love to take dogs there at least once a day. I’m an avid runner and enjoy going for runs around the neighborhood and in Joaquin Miller park (granted they’re the appropriate size and age). Our neighborhood is super low traffic and perfect for walks. I try to do 3 a day. We have a dog friendly house where they are allowed on everything but completely respect the owners rules regarding furniture and table food.

It’s important to disclose any special needs, medications, important potty training details, if allowed on furniture/in the bed, if allowed small amounts of people food, temperament issues with other dogs, issues with children, and any other important details.
A typical day
I love to go for hikes, walks, and take dogs to dog parks. A typical day while boarding dogs involves 3 walks, at least one to the dog park about a half mile from my apartment (Linda Park in Piedmont). I also love taking dogs on runs either in my neighborhood or on trails in Joaquin Miller Park in the Oakland Hills. For longer stays I sometimes spend weekends at my parents property in the Santa Cruz. They have 20 fenced acres less than 15 minutes from a great dog beach. They also have two super friendly larger dogs for yours to play with. This is only of course if permitted by the owners.

I am currently between jobs for the couple months and just looking for a fun way to make a bit of supplemental income. So granted I’m not snowboarding in Tahoe I’m completely free!
