Experience & heart! Dogs are family
Pet care experience
Dogs are family! I cannot imagine a day without canine companionship. In our home, Bailey and Mr. Gus are working dogs, so they are very social, generous, and funny. They especially love being with kids and other fur-buddies. Growing up in rural communities, I have over 30 years’ experience including animal: first-aid, health care, training, enrichment, and communication. I am also certified for canine behavior/training and animal assisted therapy. I understand how leaving our special family members alone or with others can be worrisome; so I treat your pets as carefully as I treat my own. I believe keeping their minds active and sharing positive energy through pets and play goes a long way in creating trusting and enriching relationships. My friends tell me I "speak dog" and I consider this a great compliment!
Reviews
I have known Carol for years and have observed her handling of animals, particularly dogs. Carol has an intuitive sense of canines and is able to connect with them at a powerful level. This translates into being able to train and motivate dogs to be obedient, well behaved, and relaxed. Carol’s love of animals is clear in her compassion and caring attitude and interactions with dogs. I would highly recommended Carol for working with dogs for training purposes, behavioral issues, general care, and dog sitting. (Helen E.)
We really appreciate Dr. Carol's work with Winston, our labradoodle. He is a rescue dog and a little nervous. But Dr. Carol knew what to do and her guidance has helped so much! Thank you!
Dr. Carol is just amazing and very professional! It was a quilt free experience to leave my dogs to her care. My dogs just love her. And she loves them! You can just see the bond she develops in a really short time. She talks dog! I would not hesitate to use her again! I rate Dr. Carol 10 out of 10!

Information Dr. Carol G. would like to know about your pet
To help me best care for your family member, I would appreciate knowing age, size, and any physical challenges. It also helps to know if your pet is used to any particular training cues and feeding schedules. What are his favorite ways to relax (chew toys, cuddling); special cues for going outside; and sleeping habits (couch, floor, bed). In addition to emergency and vet contact information, I would need to know allergies; allowed treats; accustomed feeding schedules. All dogs are unique, so knowing about any challenging behaviors in advance helps me keep everyone and everything safe. I love being around all kinds of dogs, especially seniors and puppies. As a dog trainer, I can also work with skills such as house breaking or crate training.
A typical day
Our daily walks range from quiet roads among homes at the base of a mountain to groomed nature trails winding through the neighborhood landscape. We also go to a park just minutes away to wander along its quiet arbor path. Sometimes we enjoy running on grass beside the golf course that abuts our back fence; chasing tennis balls or a Frisbee. In good weather, we play obstacle course outside with boxes, hula hoops, and small traffic-like cones. One of our favorites is learning new skills like making a 2-point basket through a short hoop; recycling by collecting empty plastic water bottles into a bucket; or collecting hidden toys. We also have treat puzzles and favorite chew toys (some with peanut butter) for quiet time. Every day, we have brushing time on the grooming table. Sometimes we all cuddle on the couch or bed for a mass puppy nap.
