Work from home full time in Ballard

Pet care experience

Big or small, all dogs need the same love and care. There is no limit or scarcity to my attention and thoughtful companionship. When you are at work, you can be rest assured that your pets are well taken care of and pictures are taken every hour for maximum comfort and peace of mind. I work from home and need a "special" friend to walk me around the park and trail for 30 min, 1 hour, and 1 hour and 30min. Alki Beach to Discovery Park is where I walk during the daytime hour. Flexible with owner's demands and customized requests are always met! **FREE pictures are included. **FREE dog smiles and hugs are also included. **FREE happy experiences and memories are made as well!

I thought Douglas was great the first time my pup stayed with him. He responded quickly and even sent pictures from time to time. The second time gave me doubts about Douglas' ability to care for a puppy for extended periods of time. Douglas watched my pup for about two weeks the second time. He continued to respond to any questions or concerns I had while my pup was under his care. What could Douglas improve on? Asking questions about the pup pre-boarding would make things a lot smoother for both parties. Things such as schedule or any special needs. Another thing he could improve on is letting us know of the schedule that he had so I can manage that when we bring our pup home. Some things I thought were a bit strange. I was a bit worried about the medication that we just picked up for ouor pup and asked Douglas if Ernie (my pup) was being difficult with the eye drops. He said yes, and that he said Ernie thought he was being tormented. This has never been the case with me or any of my friends when they administer eye drops. Douglas mentioned that Ernie seems terrified of elevators and even pooped in there on multiple occasions. I live in an apartment building with an elevator and my office has an elevator. From the day I brought him home, he's never had a problem with any elevator I've ever taken him in or eliminated in them. I knew the dog food we provided to Douglas would run out (by my calculations, it should've run out maybe 3/4 of the stay and I had a friend who was waiting on Douglas to let her know to bring more). When I picked up Ernie, his dog food container was empty. Also my dog's fur smelled like the fish oil that was supposed to be added to his food. They also said this oil was giving Ernie diarrhea. I've never seen this when I added the fish oil to his meals. Before I dropped Ernie off, he was on a two and a half month streak of not having an accident in my home. The first night home, Ernie peed and pooped in his crate within an hour of going into his crate to sleep for the night. I took him out to eliminate around 11:30pm and he had his accident in his crate around 12:30am. He has NEVER eliminated in his crate until after his stay with Douglas. The next day, he pooped in my apartment. This was the first time he's ever pooped in my apartment. A few items weren't returned: A shirt, a few dog toys (some that I just bought for him before we dropped him off), and my pup's dog harness. I'm assuming he tore through the harness but he could have at least let us know that. When I picked up Ernie I realized the crate and dog bed inside was wet. Not just a bit moist but soaked. We had to throw the bed away since it was in an unusuable state at that point. I gave Douglas an opportunity to respond (before he listed himself as "away" on Rover) to my concerns and questions before I left this review. He either doesn't care, hasn't seen my message, or doesn't have an answer for me questions. I do think Douglas may be a good candidate if he's only going to dog sit for a couple of days. Any longer, I would kindly suggest finding another Rover.

Our dog seemed to have a good time with Douglas during his stay and Douglas was super nice. But, the downside was that Douglas did not communicate well and wouldn't send pictures or updates unless I texted and ask for them daily. Will probably not book again for this reason.

Douglas took great care of Fiona over the holiday weekend and was really accommodating and flexible for pick up and drop off.
