Fun in the Country!
Pet care experience
My family has always had dogs, cats, and other pets. We enjoy dog walks, chuck-it fetch, and working on training and tricks. We sometimes do outings to a lake or river, or go for hikes, depending on weather. I can pop into your place when you're at work or away to care for your pets, Besides cats and dogs, we've had a parrot, a lizard, and aquarium fish.

We have a relaxed pet-friendly home on an acreage and we accommodate friendly dogs who have decent recall and basic obedience training: sit, down, and walk on a leash without pulling a lot. Some pulling and excitement is normal for new dog friends! Our own dog is friendly and enjoys making new friends. Dogs are inside, or in the fenced part of the yard for potty breaks, and on the large back deck. We do not kennel dogs during the day unless the pet parent requests it when we are out doing errands. On walks, dogs are always on leash, unless we know them well and they have excellent recall.

A typical day
We play fetch outside and in, work on skills training and obedience, and practice a few tricks. We use our 3.5 acres for walks and outside fetch, and often go further. We have a resident cat who keeps herself busy around the yard and generally avoids visitors, but she'll sometimes come around to see what everyone is up to. The dog(s) are always close by and we interact all day long.

Availability
I work at home and take breaks to accommodate pets. My husband and I take dogs on walks along trails on leash, country roads, for swims in rivers and lakes, and on hikes in Kananaskis and other areas, if everyone is up to it and it isn't too hot or too cold outside.
