They R our furry family not pets!😉

Pet care experience

We have always been the type of family to share our home and our lives with pets. Now, we may call them pets but we all know they are our family members! I have been very fortunate since 2005 because many families have entrusted me to care for their furry family members while they are away. I am a pack leader and have no problem controlling the most aggressive of dogs using positive re-enforcement. I have experience in potty training and puppy training as well as socialization. I have had many dogs that were "dog aggressive" and could not be around other dogs. Not all dogs are just dog aggressive; they may have an actual trigger that once removed there is no more aggression. I think it is important to quickly find any triggers and remove them. I have experience administering various medications, not only from experience with my own dogs but from my client's dogs as well. I also have animal CPR training and first aid & COVID prepared. I am fully vaccinated for COVID and have also tested negative for COVID recently same with my daughter who is also fully vaccinated as well as my roommate. I have many references from past clients as I have been an Auntie to so many wonderful animals. This is all I do & do not work away from our home so your animal gets 24/7 care during their stay. Why I love pet sitting First off why wouldn't I love pet sitting animals of any kind?!?! As far back as I can remember dogs have always been in our lives as well as cats, birds and even small animals like guinea pigs and hamsters. I started working from home in 2005 and figured I could help friends and family out when they have to travel by caring for their pets. I worked for a pet sitting company for almost 5 years. I provided admin support and the over all day to day operations. The most important part of my job was providing an intake for every animal that we were providing care for. I am the one that placed each pet with their sitter. I would use the intake form a client filled out as well as the sitters form so that I could place each pet in a successful environment. It was very important to me that each pet feel safe, comfortable and loved with their sitter. You have to understand the personality of each pet, pet parent and sitter to make a successful paring. Besides staffing each pet with a sitter I also boarded many different dogs over the years. I have had every dog you can imagine and every size, breed and color and I loved everyone of them! Meet my pets Through the years I have been very lucky to have several different furry family members and I wouldn't give up the time I spent with each one of them for nothing!! When I first lived on my own I had a kitty named Gizmo who lived for 16 years and had one litter of kitties. Her litter consisted of 3 kitties Flower, Rodu and Sonny. I kept them all and they lived with me until each of their passing. Rodu was my last kittie to pass shortly after his momma Gizmo passed from cancer. My next pet was a handsome Chow Chow and Akita mix named Mahena and he lived 17 years before passing due to his age. He shared our love with Phil an Akita/German Sheppard mix who passed away from stomach complications at 13 years old. We were also very lucky to get to share a year and a half of our lives with a Pomeranian named Joey aka JoJo who was 12 when he passed from an enlarged heart February 2020. He was the absolute happiest dog I have ever met! There wasn't one dog that didn't like him, infact I boarded a very aggressive dog that not even a human could get next to but that dog absolutely loved Joey and followed Jojo anywhere! Even right into the car of the owner to take their dog home! We miss him & his crazy bark everyday!! Unfortunately my co-pilot in life for the last 15 years Sophia the Imperial Shih Tzu passed from various complications w/collapsing trachea & enlarged heart October 2020. She put up such a fight to live & live is what she did! She was kind enough to wait for me to pick her up from the vet & cuddle with me before looking at me one more time giving me her look of love before passing away in my arms. It was one of the very hardest but most cherished moment I shared with her. I wouldn't give up one moment with any of my furry babies thru the years, ever, as I love every second I have had with all my furry babies!! Right now we are currently get to share our lives with Mowser the Pug who is 14 years old. Mowser is more like Garfield everyday & if you ever get to hear him get excited you would think he sounds like a cat as well!! My roommate has three Habibi's Bruce Gus and Maggie. All 4 dogs are small breeds and are non aggressive, loving and playful dogs!

We have booked with Doreen multiple times. She is so kind and very easy to communicate with. She takes wonderful care of our two needy elderly dogs including given injection and oral medication. She sends frequent video and written updates and clearly takes very wonderful care of the pups. We are very thankful for her and will continue to have her watch our dogs!

Doreen has been taking care of Luey and my previous dog Joey. She is very close to us and always takes a good care of our dogs when we are away. I really appreciate her and her family to treat our dog like one of their family.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to me that you feel that your pets are safe, secure and very loved while in our home. I have a routine that I implement with each feeding. I get all the dogs' food ready at one time and I train them to eat in the same spot each time. Due to food allergies and sensitive tummy's I never leave dog food out. During each feeding I watch them eat and as soon as a dog is finished eating I remove the bowl. I do this for each dog until all dog bowls are up and in the sink to be washed. A lot of dogs are food/ dog bowl aggressive so I am very careful with each feeding. My children are older and at times play a pivotal role in the care of your pup/s. I find that most dogs will stick to me while they are here however there are those dogs that have a huge attachment to their kids. When we have dogs here that are attached to the children of their family my 20 year old daughter Jes is more than happy to provide them the love they need so they feel safe and secure. For those who want their pup/s to experience younger children I can have my 25 year old son bring over my 4 year old granddaughter & almost 1 year old grandson and introduce them. For those pups that are not to be around younger children that's not a problem as I will not have my grandchildren over during their stay. We try to emulate the environment they have at home. If your dog sleeps in your bed at night then they are welcome to sleep in my bed at night. We want your babies to be as comfortable as they are at home while following your house rules as well. This is all I do & do not work away from our home so your animal gets 24/7 care during their stay. I also have no problem transporting your pet/s during your service and I am very flexible on the times of pick up/drop off. My car insurance is in good standing as well as my driving record. I am happy to provide several picture updates daily via email or text so you know how your pet/s are doing. Your pets may not be able to tell you in their own words how their stay went. They can and will tell you in the way that they act when you see them and by the look on their furry faces! Thank you so much for considering me for your pet care needs! About my yard Our yard is well maintained by landscapers and it is fully fenced. I like to leave our slider cracked so the dogs can go in and out as they please. I pay a dog yard waste service to come in weekly to clean and sanitize the yard of dog feces. This way the dogs are not passing anything to each other.

Information Doreen C. would like to know about your pet

It really is important to me to have any/all information that will aide in the care of your furry loved one and I won't turn you away based on any of this information as it really is just so I can provide the best care possible. Information that would be helpful is if he/ she has a sensitive tummy or are on a special diet. IMPORTANT **please do not bring breakable dog bowls or toy's that you don't want destroyed or lost.** Also I just need to know anything that might help your dog/s have a successful stay with us. Their comfort and safety is so very very important to me! I have experience with very shy dogs to very aggressive dogs as well as puppies etc...

A typical day

Walks: We will take our walks in Bellevue the Somerset Community to be more specific and for any one who lives in the area knows that we are on a huge hill which you can see when going over the bridge to Seattle. We live close to everything including many parks, dog parks, walking paths, lakes and we like to walk the dogs on all the great paths in and around the woods. The side walks tend to not be that busy but if they get busy we go to either a local neighborhood park or the dog park near us. Seeping arrangement's: I am happy to let each dog sleep were he/she is most comfortable. If your dog usually sleeps in your bed under the covers behind your knees and wants to sleep there while staying with me then your pup/s is welcome to! I try to follow the same routine your pup is used to at home while also allowing your pup to explore what would make him/her comfortable in our environment. I give your pup the lead and allow him/her show me what he/she wants. Daily Activities: This is what I do so I'm home for them to get 24/7 care! I never leave the house for very long and if I do it is for a short errand, pet sitting visit or to walk a dog. If I am running a simple errand and the pup I am boarding is a car lover I am happy to bring him/her along.

My schedule is pretty flexible as this is what I do, it's not a side "gig". I've been walking dogs regularly for about three years but due to COVID thing's died down for awhile but are starting to pick up again. I'm happy to bring any dog's I'm boarding with me to go on the walks as well depending on the other dog's walking situation. If not they are not left alone as my 20 year old daughter is here as well. I'm never gone from our home for very long when I do walk dogs in fact right now I'm not gone at all unless running an errand. When the dog walking picks up I will note it in my schedule. So for right now I'm still home 24/7!
