I love animals and they love me!

Pet care experience

I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, rabbits, Guinea pigs & chinchillas for friends & family since I was 10. My dad also used to breed English & silver labradors. I’ve watched animals for friends throughout my adult married life, but just recently started to use the Rover platform at the beginning of 2023

Dora is great, and Ellie loves when she visits. She's dependable, very trustworthy, and communicative (pics, updates, etc.). So glad I found her!

Dora is the best dog sitter we’ve ever had! She goes above and beyond to accommodate you and your pup! Right off the bat we felt comfortable leaving Mia with her and Rameses. Dora was communicative, shared lots of updates and pics and made what is normally very difficult being away from our puppy, pretty easy! So grateful for her!

I have a medium size, fully fenced-in yard and a friendly playful English bulldog to keep your buddy company! I always do a meet & greet first, to be sure our pups get along, and to give them a chance to sniff around before the actual drop off. My dog is very good with other dogs, has zero aggression & never barks. He typically is excited to meet them, and then chills out the rest of the visit. Really feeble dogs might be at risk of getting bumped into as he sometimes runs and plays fetch and is like a bull in a China shop 😂 occasionally an extremely shy dog will be scared of him, but overall, most dogs love him! We’ll know with the meet & greet! I dont like to have more than 5 dogs @ a time (that’s including my own) because I simply don’t have the space, & I want each dog to feel loved-I treat every dog as my own! Typically it’s more like 1 or 2. You can also request that your pet is the only one at my house during his stay. 😊 I never leave the dogs together unsupervised. My dog is crate trained, so if I’m asleep, he’s in the crate & your dog will be either in his crate too, unless he doesn’t need a crate. When we’re gone, the dogs are always separated, in crates if needed. I have a couple cameras in our home, to monitor how your dog is doing if it’s his first time. If the dogs are out playing, I’m awake & watching them, 100% of the time. For me, sending regular updates, photos and videos is a MUST! 🩵 You can even FaceTime them if you’d like! I want you to feel connected to your pet even though you’re away. We do not drink or smoke anything-were pretty boring in that regard! 🤪 so there will never be any hazardous things in our home, and we will always be 100% there for the doggies. ❤️

Information Dora D. would like to know about your pet

I may ask some of the following questions: Does your pet have separation anxiety? are they more vocal or quiet? Have they ever stayed at someone’s house before? If so, how did that go? are they crate-trained, can they sleep overnight in our guest room or do they need to sleep with us? Do they need lots of exercise/daily walk? Any allergies? Can I offer them my dogs’ treats, or will you provide your own? Do they obey “come” and “stay”? Are there special key words or phrases you say often to them, that I could say to make them feel loved and less anxious? Do they ever hump dogs or people, or mark their territory inside? What commands do they know? What do you do to make your dogs less anxious, if they struggle with anxiety? Are there any medications, health concerns, or behavioral things I should be aware of? There is no wrong answer to these questions—I ask them so I can provide your pet with the most relaxing, non-traumatizing stay possible. I truly want them AND my family to have an enjoyable time. I may ask if I can take your pet into my home without you for a moment, at the meet & greet, to see how she acts when separated. Some animals really struggle w/ being away from their owners, which is OK! But I want to know that up front and for them to get a chance to be around me at the meet & greet, so you and I know if it’s a good fit or not.

A typical day

I love to stimulate your dogs physically and mentally! We’ll play with toys, hide and seek, train & go on walks if requested. My favorite park to take my dog is Pontiac Lake, but I would not take your pet anywhere without your request. I like to water your plants, feed your fish, sweep & other basic house chores if house-sitting or doing drop ins, upon request free of charge ?

I am pet-sitting full-time currently. I go to church on Wednesday nights, as well as Sunday morning and night, and once a month, we have a youth activity at church. (My husband is the youth ministry leader) Outside of going to a church service, a doggy drop in, or running an errand, I am chillin at my home (or yours) with your pets.
