Where Pups Want to Come Back
Pet care experience
In 2017, I lost my dog love, a little Pomeranian named Goldie at 18 years old. Before that, it was Gracie, 17 years old when she passed away. I have a heart for older dogs and love to make them feel better with joint support (diatomaceous earth, a natural supplement) and massages. They love it. Goldie and Gracie were mascots at the magazine where I worked and loved every minute of it. They came with me to work every day! Some dogs are meant for PR work, greeting new people! I'm a retired chiropractor with a few degrees in nutrition and a master's in herbs and now have an Australian Shepherd that was rescued from a life at a puppy mill where she churned out puppies and never was allowed inside the home. When I brought her home, she was scared to death of going outside, fearing she would not be allowed in. She longed so much for being a true companion. Teaching dogs tricks and just being with them really makes life great! They love to learn. In the past, I created my own homemade food recipe for dogs over the years as well, and worked with them naturally, even in cases where vets wanted to do extreme things such as remove a front leg from my dog Ginger who was born with congenital disc disease. This would have caused her to have perpetual back pain for the rest of her life. She also recovered fully from spinal paralysis (another time). I have a large back yard and a 100-year-old tree in the back yard with plenty of shade. Because of my health background, I'm helpful with pets recovering from surgery. I am not a veterinarian and do not diagnose or treat pets. But the care I give has helped one dog who could barely walk jump up the stair on the front doorstep after three days, and have substantial strength in one week. And some Welsh corgis in the past who were obese started to get in shape at my house. Unfortunately they needed more time but they started feeling better. The grass has been a big problem in the back yard because of the large tree giving too much shade. So it gets muddy after rains. While writing a cookbook on diatomaceous earth in 2016, I ended up with 7-1/2 dozen dog biscuits that were distributed to all the dogs in the neighborhood and they loved them. There's a park down the street and love to take dogs for car rides. Hope to meet your dog soon! Sometimes I'll take them down to American River Park. Typical things the pets will do - go for car rides, walks, and wait for me to make dinner from scratch in the kitchen. Not many restrictions here... would love to meet your dog. However, I don't usually take dogs with separation anxiety, although I'd love to have a consultation with you because there is a solution.
Reviews
Appreciate the short notice help and how easy Donna made the experience. Great dog sitter.
3rd time I've used Donna and will continue to do so. She's fantastic with my girl. So accommodating and has come through on multiple last minute situations. Highly recommend her!!
Donna was great. She kept me informed on what my pup was doing every step of the way. She is very nice. And would definitely recommend her.
My pup loves Dr. Donna! She treats the dogs in her care as if they were her own. Bella came home happy and tired.

I care for pets in my home and outside my home as if they are my family. I take them for car rides, walks, sometimes cook for them, talk to them, play with them, sometimes I take them to the river, pray for them, do their laundry, and encourage them. Sometimes they have emotional issues so I counsel them. They seem to understand. I teach them new things and have a tunnel they can run through in my backyard.
