I have owned pets all of my adult life. I truly love animals even the ones that need extra patience and care. I have experience volunteering in local animal rescues. I typically walk as many dogs as possible during my visits and work to train them on leashes, walking, sitting, paw shaking ect... Most dogs in rescues have not been trained and so you have to be extra patient but at the same time not let the them control the experience, this is because we try to get the animals where they are adoptable. And most people expect for the dog to have basic training skills when considering adoption. It is a real joy to work with them. The best part is that I can have several animals in my life at one time. I become attached to them and it is wonderful when they find forever homes. I find that most animals are good, they just haven't had the care, attention and training needed when they are puppies. Most of them can be trained over time.
