Home full-time - Quiet environment

Pet care experience

I’m Donna and I love dogs! I’m retired and have plenty of time to devote to animals, so Donna’s One Dog at a Time Dog Sitting service was born. It’s been a hoot and I love meeting new furry pals. My most experience with "visitor doggies" is the three years I have had Donna's One Dog at a Time Dog Sitting Service. They are all so different! Some want to play, and some want to snuggle. I am not a dog expert, just a dog lover. I am lucky to have the support of a great vet and an expert dog behaviorist in the neighborhood so you can feel comfortable having your pup in my care. Plus I am retired and rarely leave the house (Thank you, Peapod and Amazon!), so I’m fully committed to the safekeeping of your best pal. I provide a quiet environment with lots of hugs and kisses. But if the client wants it, their dog can romp in the yard, either alone or when the other tenants are exercising their dogs. It's like a mini-dog-park at times! We're lucky because the landlord is a dog lover. So if your dog likes to cuddle on the couch while watching MSNBC, or play fetch in the yard, we've got it covered. I live in courtyard building in Andersonville with a fenced-in yard. I share it with a mellow Belgian Sheepdog named Zephyr who is six years old. He’s my whole raison d’etre. We go for walks every day and play ball in the yard. In between, we watch TV! My neighborhood is very dog-friendly and pups are welcome in all the shops, and every neighbor seems to want to say hi. If your pet likes people, we got 'em. If your pooch likes other doggies, there are two Bichons in the next apartment who would love a play session in the fenced courtyard. When I’m not pet sitting, I enjoy the companionship of good friends, a fine meal, and a loyal dog. I will admit to having two piercings on my face now that I am retired from nursing! My family disapproves. They say I look like a rebellious 16 year old. But I like them!

We did not go away that weekend I cancelled with Rover and Donna. I did not get a credit and I did not worry about it because we immediately booked our April 20 the-24th trip. Please confirm!

Donna was fantastic! Her place is a dog paradise, and our dog absolutely loved his time there.

Donna is amazing! She was so attentive to our dog and sent the best pictures. She really cares about animals and you can tell as soon as you meet her. We will be using her again and again to watch our dog. We have been using this service for 2 years and have not come across someone who I can speak this highly of. Thank you Donna!

Donna is far more than a dog sitter, she really cares about her four legged guests. It’s truly like a hotel for our Luso, who is always excited to get to Donna’s and never too happy to leave. She “spoils” him with available dog beds, toys and lots of love.

Information Donna M. would like to know about your pet

I take in mostly older dogs with complicated medications but would be happy to care for any pup who needs my love and attention. I also like to know a little more about your pup’s normal schedule or routine as well as their favorite toys, treats, and games!

A typical day

I will be available 24/7 for questions or updates about your dog. I will make sure your pup gets his or her food and medications on time, and plenty walks. I have all day to fuss over my four-legged friends because of my stay-at-home status!
