Pet care experience
I can’t imagine life without my fur babies! I’ve had some sort of pet my entire life. This has given me the opportunity to learn how to work with dogs from birth and throughout their life span. After selling my business I volunteered with a non-profit training dogs for disabled veterans. They were so pleased with my ability to work their dogs through their training routines that they invited me to assist with training service dogs for explosives detection. This was an incredible experience that taught me how to work with all kinds of dogs. As well, I’m a cat lover! At one point I had nine cats… each came to me injured and abandoned. I’d take them in, patch them up, get them fixed, and find them homes. I’ve been retired for three years now. I’ve used my free time to not be a pet owner but to learn about animal behavior and animal training. I’d love to care for your fur babies in your absence. I promise to treat them with all the love and care I give to my own babies..
Reviews
Great lady. I am so happy I met her. I will always call her first above all others.
There’s good news and bad news. The good news is that Donna communicated well prior to and during the sit. She performed extra duties (washed the bedding, threw out the garbage, etc.) that were not expected. There were a couple minor slip-ups, but nothing to get upset about. The dogs were treated well and the house was in great shape when I returned home from a weekend trip. The bad news is that Donna was not truthful with me. She left my house at about 10:00 a.m. on the first day of the 3-night sit and returned three hours later with one of her dogs. When I returned from my trip, enough time was allowed for Donna to tell me about bringing her dog to my house, but she never mentioned it. I was the one who brought it up, at which time she confessed that she brought her dog. I asked Donna if her dog stayed overnight, and she replied with an adamant “No”. Donna then proceeded to explain that her dog needed insulin shots and her husband didn’t know how to successfully give the dog the injection. So, her husband drove to my house every day so that Donna could give the dog the injection, and then he drove back to their home, an hour’s drive one way. My Ring doorbell, however, tells a much different story: Donna, without my permission, brought her dog to my house on the first morning of the sit, the dog stayed overnight, and Donna’s husband picked up their dog and took it to their home on the morning of my return from my trip. There was much disappointment over this, because I really liked Donna and trusted her with my pups.
Our fur babies absolutely love Donna. They get so excited when she comes to spend time again. Knowing your pets are in good hands really makes spending time away so much easier.
Donna was fantastic! She took such great care of our pets, ensuring they were spoiled rotten with companionship and belly rubs while we took a night off. It makes relaxing that much more attainable when you know your dogs are in great hands.
