Spacious, Fun Home Away From Home

Pet care experience

I have cared for animals of all ages and sizes, dog-sitting for over 10 years. My home has a large fenced yard where dogs can run and play safely off-leash. My other pet-care experience includes grooming, training, and animal foster care.

Hazel loved her stay with Donna and Olafur!! I got regular updates from Donna with pictures and she was available if I ever had any questions or needed a quick update. Hazel was a little nervous at first but Donna helped put her at ease. Hazel will definitely be back to visit Olafur and Donna!

Donna took Murphy last minute which was a huge help. She does a wonderful job with him and provides me great feedback at the end of each day. I feel very comfortable and confident knowing she will take great care of Murphy!

Donna was wonderful with our dog! I have an Australian cattle dog and she is super anxious and shy. Donna was super patient and take good care of her. I couldn’t recommend more.

Safety, trust & environment

Although I will be the primary care-giver, my husband and 2 grown children will more than likely also meet your dog. We also have a rather large and friendly dog, but we can provide dogs with more personal space if they seem to need it. When I care for others’ pets, I treat them as family, but I also understand that each dog is unique. I try to find the level of interaction that will make your fur friend feel most at home. If you have a special routine or request, I will do my best to respect your wishes. It’s my top priority to help your dog feel comfortable and loved while visiting my home. My home has plenty of pet-friendly space, toys, and furniture, and guests are welcome to bring any items that would make their stay more enjoyable.

Information Donna A. would like to know about your pet

I’d like to know as much as possible about your dog’s temperament. Have they stayed away from home before? What training have they had? How do they respond to other animals? What are their activity preferences, behavioral quirks, or fears? Each dog has their own personality and temperament. I want to create a stress free environment for your pet! I will follow any feeding instructions you provide. Please tell me about any allergies or restrictions on food. What, if any, treats are they allowed to have? What you should bring: -Food. If I have to buy food, the cost will be added to the base fee. -Medications with instructions for administering. -Emergency contact information + your vets name. *Optional, but welcome: bed, kennel, toys, or other comfort items from home.

A typical day

About an hour after meals, we’ll spend some time romping in the yard and playing games. For less active dogs, we may just take our walks around the lake or around the neighborhood. I’m always happy to play indoor games and cuddle on the sofa with my furry guests. There is almost always an adult in the home. If we all leave for more than an hour, I will let you know about it. Communication is important to me. Your pup will have lots of companionship and opportunities for activity. Water is available at all times.

Availability

I have a part-time job that allows me to be home most of the time. The hours are also flexible, so I have plenty of time to care for and play with your dog. Although I’m usually available on short notice, new clients need to schedule a meet and greet first. It’s important that everyone feels good about the match! *Drop-off and pickup times are between 7am and 9:30pm. Anything outside those hours may incur an extra charge.
