Pet care experience
For 5+ years, I have operated DonWalksDogs in the Downtown Orlando area. As I love dogs and cats, it is easy for me to develop a rapport from the git go. When I get contacted by a potential new client, I ask for a time to go to where the dog and client live to meet both. 82% of the time, we agree to work together. Upon meeting the dog, I squat down in front of the animal and reach out to scratch his/her chest, something dogs love and immediately establishes me as a friend. I keep treats handy to encourage the dog to do as I ask. I walk dogs for up to thirty minutes from the moment I walk out the door with the dog until we return. When I care for cats, I visit their home twice daily where I feed, water & clean the litter box each visit. The cats like "Greenies", so I give some at the start of each visit. If toys are out, I'll roll a ball around so the cats can chase it. When we visit a dog park or the dog run enclosure in a close by park, I take balls and other toys to encourage running and playing. I keep treats close at hand, too.

I typically do not travel without my dogs but if I have to I know that they are in very good care under Don’s watch. My dogs get excited when they see Don. He is great with them. I even get play by play updates from Don plus he sends me pictures of the girls. I love it because I am definitely missing them when we are apart. I completely trust Don with my dogs and I am confident that he treats them like they are his own.
We have been using Don to watch our kitties for the past few years now. He is reliable, loves cats and dogs, and is very respectful. I trust Don in our home when we are away. Anytime I need Don, he is always there for me. We will always use him for our pet sitting needs.
I have known Don for nearly 20 years during which part of that time we worked very closely together. He’s a man of high ethics, professionalism and integrity. I recently moved to the area where Don Walks Dogs provides services and I immediately contacted him. I travel quite frequently and Don takes care of both of my dogs. Don sends me fun photos of Corey and Max making new friends throughout Downtown Orlando and Lake Eola. Dons rates are very reasonable and Corey and Max love him. We ALL recommend Don Walks Dogs.

I prefer not to walk or board aggressive dogs. As part of a pit bull rescue organization, I have learned to like and love this breed. I have walked "hound/boxer mix", Westie, Beagles, MaltePoos, Labradoodles, Spaniel, Huskies, Labrador Retriever, Schnauzers and many mixed breed dogs. The routine would be established by the dog owner. Typically, I feed the dogs and walk them after feeding. I put on harnesses (preferred) or collars and start the walk around neighboring blocks. I always carry plastic poop bags so as to clean up after the dog if necessary. When we return, if the dog owner requests it, I'll stay and play with the dog or cat for another 10-15 minutes..
A typical day
Dog walking is a part-time up to full time enterprise for me and I have a lot of time to spend with your dogs, cats and other pets. My past experiences has been very gratifying and pleasant. One owner, when I appeared while he was still home, remarked about his dog's reaction to my showing up, "He likes you!" The dog owner and I discuss places to walk the dogs Nearby my home are two dog-friendly parks (Greenwood Park & Lake Eola Park) and a dog enclosure at a third (Constitution Green) two blocks from my home. I take toys, balls, treats & doggie bags with me on all walks. I love dogs and other animals and love caring for them. Our dogs are a 7 year old Golden Retriever and a 4 year old Miniature Pinscher. The backyard is fence enclosed and has a lock on the gate, so your pets are safe at my house. Our dogs play nice with other dogs.
