Pet care experience
I've had dogs all my life and made common mistakes as a youngster. I was President of Doberman Rescue of New Mexico from its inception in 2003 until 2015. I Love ALL animals, but am especially partial to big dogs. I teach part-time and am never gone more than 4 hours and miss the morning and evening walks with my now departed dogs. I have fostered at least 50 Dobermans through my home. Many challenges, but never any tragedies. I presided over the rescue and re-homing of at least 700 dogs. I am fit and have had a lot of experience with medical issues and special needs dogs. Two of the last 3 Dobermans that lived with me were special-needs.

I work on a computer and can work most anywhere. I teach online and am taking courses online as well. I like reading, working on the computer or watching TV with a dog attached and have a very boring social life. I'm happy to work with any special needs a dog has from behavioral issues to medical needs / schedule and incontinence. I have given follow-up care for Orthopedic surgeries, amputations, heart-worm treatment and cancer. I have also taken on hospice while doing Rescue.

Likes and dislikes. What is your dog's personality? High energy with destructive tendencies when bored will only work if the dog is crate trained for the periods I cannot attend. I can work with most behaviors as long as they are understood and spelled-out before-hand by the dog's guardian.
A typical day
I live in a very pedestrian, dog-friendly neighborhood with many parks. There is a large fenced soccer field that is frequented in the evening by locals with their dogs for interaction and exercise. I am willing to go on long walks in at the Bosque as well.

I will be out of New Mexico from early August until the end of November. I teach Monday and Wednesday mornings until noon, but am otherwise flexible.
