Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit more about me: I played in the NFL for two years for the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears before moving to San Diego to start a dog training business. I am the owner of a behavioral facility in San Diego, CA named Crafty Canine Club! I love dogs more than anything and am extremely passionate about my work. As of 2022, i have logged 6,500+ training hours working with aggressive, reactive, and undersocialized canines. I also have worked with 300+ dog breeds and am well versed in all their nuances :) I have mentored under some of the best dog trainers in Southern California and have experience with all shapes and sizes. I was leaving for a 5-day trip and the morning before, I found out that my dog no longer had a sitter. I desperately searched Rover hoping someone would take her with such short notice. Thankfully, Don accepted and I cannot even begin to tell you how fortunate myself and Ava were to find him. The moment I watched Ava interact with him, I knew she was going to be okay. He had a calmness and gentleness to his voice and she seemed to immediately take to him. He kept me updated with messages, pictures and videos during my trip. The most comforting part, was every message showed my girl smiling. The bonus of finding Don was not just a sitter for Ava but someone who is greatly skilled with animals and their behavior. Ava was very friendly and playful with other dogs Pre-Covid. After Covid, she showed signs of anxiety around other dogs. Don assured me he would closely observe her and if or when he felt she was ready, he would introduce her to others. On day one, he sent me a video of her running around with the other dogs with a smile on her face. That was all I needed to know that Ava was in great hands!
We’re thankful to have found Don on Rover! We had to leave for a 2.5 week trip and needed a place for our golden retriever, Champ, to stay for the extended time. We were able to meet with Don beforehand to tour his place, get to know his services, and ask any questions we had. We also scheduled Champ for a 2-day stay to make sure it was the right place for him and he had fit right in. Don’s facility and yard was perfect for our socially active 2-year old dog like Champ. He had a great time and returned happy and healthy, which was most important for us! We had no issues. While we were away, we received updates and photos about every other day. We will definitely use Don’s services in the future.
Tessa had a great time with Don and all the new friends she made during her stay. He quickly developed a good rapport with her. Don's facility is super-clean, well-fenced, and large so that Tessa was able to get the exercise she needs. I really appreciated the daily texts and photo updates of how she was getting on. I definitely recommend Don and will use his services again in the future.
Don was very friendly and communicative. He sent several pics per day and videos and made me feel like they were in good hands. Only thing I would say is although they came back tired and happy they were also very dirty and stinky (but can be expected wondering on the property).

I have a 2 acre lot with lots different fencing and play areas Your dog will be with me 24/7 and always within eye sight Your dog is allowed on the furniture and cuddling is highly encouraged :) I am a certified animal behaviorist and have worked very closely with many vets of canine safety / wellness. If i notice any issues i will contact you immediately. I pride myself on great communication. I will always send daily updated and often send pictures, videos, and more!

I am open to working with all shapes, ages, and sizes of dogs. I have cared for a special need dogs, i helped train a blind dog, and have had many experiences with all types of behavioral quirks. If your dog has any specific needs, just notify me and i will do my best to accommodate them and make them and you as happy as possible!
A typical day
I typically hike five days a week and would love to have your dog join my pack! when staying with me! I am an ex-NFL player who’ll loves fitness and the outdoors. Therefore, your dog will always be outside and loving life when they stay with me. :)

Availability
I typically do 2 to 3 playtimes per day that are outside on our 10 acre property. We have a few fenced in areas, so plenty of space to run and play. I also incorporate training and obedience to every playtime to make sure every dog is engaged, happy, and tired by the end of it :)
