I gained a love for animals early on. When I was 9, I started caring for animals by going to my aunts chinchilla ranch on the weekends. We would clean their cages, feed them, fill their waters, and sweep up the floors. I ended up being a 4-H member and competing in chinchilla shows. As I got older, I would stay at family member's, neighbors or close family friends houses for a few days or the weekend and watch their four legged children while they were away. I have always been around animals, my step-dad has an affinity for bringing pets home so I felt like I lived in a petting zoo. I have had an iguana, 6 cats at once, multiple birds, frogs, a snake, chinchillas, tarantulas, a turtle, and fish as pets. Currently, I have a chinchilla, and my roommate has a dog and a cat that I play auntie to.
