The thing that sets me apart from most animal lovers is my experience handling animals in a hospital setting. I have 11 years of professional experience with animals in a hospital and pet spa setting. Most pets are nervous in the examination room so a slow, gentle approach is usually the way to go. I am licensed in pet CPR, and therapeutic animal massage. As a trained former animal hospital manager, I am used to spotting emergency situations and potential illnesses. Your pet will be in fantastic hands with me. I have extensive experience calculating and administering intramuscular, subcutaneous, oral and topical medications. I love dogs and cats, and large/aggressive dogs don't intimidate me. My coworkers usually approach me for help with aggressive animals because I am calm and comforting. Failing that, I know how to restrain an animal safely so that they are comfortable. I have flexibility on every day of the week, including weekends. On certain days of the week I can be available around the clock. You never know what might come up and kennels usually are not open 24hrs a day. I know how to approach cats and dogs in order to help them feel calm. Some people may try to "dominate" a nervous animal, but I find it best to stand to the side and let them approach without making eye contact. Your home is your pets territory. I wouldn't want someone coming into my home and dominating me =). My dog gets the run of the house, even the furniture, but I understand how to gently correct undesirable behavior.
