Pet care experience
My family and I raised my first dog from a puppy. All the dogs (and cats) who followed were rescues. Most were seniors that we cared for till they passed away. I’ve also owned parakeets, and taught them to talk!
Reviews
Before I review Dixie, I need to share about my dog. Coco is skittish, anxious with new situations, old, and set in her ways. Furthermore, she had not had a non-family member watch her since the beginning of Covid. Dixie allowed Coco the space she needed to warm and quickly determined the path to her heart. When we returned from our long weekend, Coco was snuggling Dixie, happy, and relaxed. Yay for Dixie! And bonus-Dixie kept our home neat and tidy. Thank you Dixie! Coco looks forward to having you sit in the future!!
This was the first time we had left Pip, our 12 year cat with anyone. We were nervous about how he would do having someone in his house. Could not have gone better. Dixie was great! Always sending updates, pictures and videos. Very obvious Pip was comfortable with her and glad to be in his own home. Will definitely schedule with Dixie again.
Dixie was wonderful! We were able to rest easy while travelling, knowing that our dog was in such good hands. If you're looking for a sitter in the area, your search is now over because you have found the best!
Dixie and her husband took care of my 5 mos old puppy for 7 days. They took care of Kirby like he was theirs. At one point Kirby had a bad night( anxiety from his parents leaving) and her husband stayed up with him most all night just trying to keep him happy and make him feel safe I will definitely use them again. Dixie stopped by a few days later to pick up something she had left and Kirby went crazy when she came in. He was very excited to see her and was jumping all over her so I would take that as his seal of approval too.

I have had several German Short-haired Pointers that were about 50 pounds, and am comfortable with walking high-energy dogs up to about 55 pounds. I have had dogs, cats, parakeets, and even a pet squirrel that we rescued, then released.
A typical day
Because I am an active senior, I enjoy long walks with dogs. Playing ball or tug-of-war with a toy are favorite activities that I did with my own German Short-haired Pointers. I used a laser and cat toys to keep our granddaughter’s Calico active and healthy when we kept her in our home.
