experience caring for 400+ dogs

Pet care experience

Before going to college, I moved to Guatemala for a year to work in an animal shelter. There, I cared for 400+ dogs. Our shelter worked on rehabilitation, so many of the animals I interacted with were disabled or recovering from surgery, and I am happy to care for pets with special needs. I have always loved animals but this experience taught me that every animal has its own personality, and I love getting better acquainted with all sorts of dogs! I do not own a dog currently because I just graduated from college, so I would love to care for your pup(s), and treat them as my own. Currently, I am a fellow at Yale, so your dog would have plenty of opportunities for socialization with students (all of whom are generally ecstatic to pet animals), while we go on walks (or runs) in the spacious greens around campus.

Dianne took great care of my 13-year-old beagle, Joey. She carried him up and down the few stairs that go up to her place because he has back problems. She managed to keep him from getting into any food there, which is no easy task with a clever but always hungry beagle like Joey (beagles are notorious for their bottomless pits of stomachs). Since she only takes in one dog at a time, he got lots of personal attention and cuddles, which he loved. She sent several photos during my 5 nights away, walked him as often as he needed, and was flexible with pickup and dropoff times. She was very nice, and Joey must have agreed, since he cried when we left her to return home. I would strongly recommend Dianne.

Zoey had an excellent stay with Dianne. She so enjoyed herself that when it was time to leave, she wanted to go with Dianne instead. While with Dianne, Zoey was engaged physically and mentally. She took long walks, met lots of people and hangout in the park under the sun. Clearly, Dianne knows her favorite activities and made the effort to get to know Zoey and keep her happy. Zoey's human also appreciated Dianne's quick responsiveness, conscientiousness to learn all about Zoey, and her sense of responsibility and orderliness.
