Pet care experience
Diane offers reliable, knowledgeable, loving pet care, backed by years of veterinary experience. She also carries comprehensive professional pet-sitting insurance for your peace of mind. Prior to starting "Teddy & Friends" Pet Care, Diane managed the Guide Dogs for the Blind Veterinary Financial Assistance Program, worked as a small animal veterinary tech, and managed two horse facilities. PLEASE NOTE: 1. I have a dog who I need to bring with me on pet sits. He's a good boy, but if you or your pet would not be comfortable with that, I unfortunately won't be a good fit for your needs. 2. I regret that I am not able to take care of young puppies, or pets who are unable to be left alone for a few hours in the afternoon while I'm walking dogs (except that some dogs may be able to come along on the afternoon walks)--see "Schedule" for details. * 5 years at Guide Dogs for the Blind * 3 years as a tech at a small animal vet hospital * Professional dog walker since 2013 * 2 1/2 years' full-time horse-care experience * My personal pets have included dogs, cats, bunnies, parakeets, freshwater fish, and chickens. Currently I have a 2 year old Great Pyrenees dog. My experience administering medication I am comfortable administering oral, skin, eye, and ear medications and giving injections (IM or SQ), as well as administering subcutaneous fluids. I can also trim nails, clean ears, and brush teeth.
Reviews
Diane is a real find! I think she took better care of my dogs and cats than we do when we are home. They had a fantastic time with her and she even made some improvements to their training while we were away. I felt very confident knowing my pets were bring well cared for and she sent frequent updates snd photos so could see what they were up to. Thank you, Diane!
Diane was great. I felt very comfortable leaving my pets with her and enjoyed the updates. She was great with my GSD who is weary of strangers. She understands dog language and is great with cats too. I feel confident leaving my pets with Diane and may take more frequent vacations.
All of my animals were happy and content when I returned home.
Diane took such good care of my pup while he was recovering from knee surgery. He is under strict bed rest, and Diane knew how to approach him to keep him calm to prevent him from re-injuring himself. Diane was also very knowledgeable about handling injured dogs, so I felt comfortable leaving my pup in her care. Diane is also very responsive and punctual, all things you look for when trusting someone else to care for your furry family members. I highly recommend Diane!

Skills
Safety, trust & environment
Safety is always uppermost in my mind when taking care of animals, the specifics of which depend on the type of pet you have, the layout of your home/yard, and your pet's individual personality and health needs. We can talk about precautions for your pet before your trip.
Information Diane M. would like to know about your pet
I will meet with you prior to your trip to discuss your pet’s exercise/social/health/behavior needs. I enjoy most dog breeds, but am especially partial to "gentle giants". I also love cats, bunnies, chickens, and horses!
A typical day
My typical visits are about 30 minutes, and include feeding, administering meds, potty breaks for dogs, litterbox cleaning for cats & bunnies, watering plants, collecting mail and newspapers, taking out trash and recycling, changing up blinds and lights if desired for better security, and of course playtime and cuddles. If you have more than 2 pets or pets who need more than routine care, an additional fee may apply (discussed in advance).

Availability
My schedule is flexible. I generally walk dogs on weekday afternoons, and when possible I try to organize walks and visits to minimize the driving necessary.
