Pet care experience
I have owned and been primary care taker of cats and dogs for more than 23 years. I've cared for friend and family members pets at both my home and theirs. I'm experienced in bathing/ lite grooming and basic healthcare including administering medication. I've raised dogs from the age 3 months to senior dogs that were deaf and blind. I've worked at a dog grooming shop and handled a variety of different breeds and have knowledge of traits, medical needs and predispositions. I've also worked with a private Irish Wolfhound breeder and was responsible for all care of their dogs including grooming, bathing, medication( oral, topical, suppository and injection). I cared for pregnant dogs, new litters, dogs with chronic medical conditions as well as senior dogs in the pack. In 2000, adopted a twice returned rescue Pit mix named Lucy. She was a 2 year old beauty with a heart of gold. She never met a person who she didnt love. Also,...she had severe dog aggression and extreme resource guarding, I was unaware of this when I brought her home. Knowing she would be euthanized if returned for a 3rd time to the shelter, I made it my mission to work with her training and remained steadfast in safeguarding from situations where any danger could come to other dogs or to her. I'm proud to say that with a lot of dedication, Lucy safely remained with me with until her passing of old age in 2013. Lucy even progressed to make some k9 best friends. During those 13 years with Lucy, I poured myself into researching animal behavior and training techniques. I have a seasoned sense for picking up on cues and managing stressful situations that can arise, always keeping safety in the forefront of my mind. I'm experienced caring for multiple pet homes, I understand the different relationships and sometimes challenges that can arise in balancing the peace between fur siblings.
Reviews
Diana takes a really good care of my dogs. She is trustworthy and reliable! I have a 12yo Lhasa and traveling international, specially for the holidays, is always hard because we can’t take the dogs. But last holiday we had Diana staying in our house for two weeks with them. She sent daily updates, with photos and videos, and made sure all their needs were met. She also takes care of them in a weekly basis. Our other dog is 4yo and has lots of energy. Regularly she does extra activities with him like playdates with other dogs, or take him to stores, or take him to the dog park, or a play time with our neighbors’ dog. It’s clear to us that she loves them a lot! I definitely recommend her!
I have been using Rover and similar petsitting services for a decade. Diana is without exception the best care provider I have had the pleasure of working with! She is extremely responsible, responsive, compassionate, and exceedingly professional. From quick drop-ins to extended stays with my dog in my home, I always have peace of mind that she is providing top-level care, even when the care instructions are detailed. She loves animals and it shows in her empathy, patience, and attention to detail. My large senior dog is always in great shape and spirits after her visits. I can't recommend Diana enough. She will treat your animal as if it's her own.
Another great job!
Once again, Diana did a great job - she followed the dogs' regimen to a tee, taking good care of them for our day away. She also respected our home and belongings. The dogs love her, too! They were SO exited to see her again. Highly recommended!

Safety, trust & environment
I'm conscientious about different needs dogs have in accordance with breed, sex, age, energy levels. Fetch, nose games (hide and seek with treats), tug of war, practicing skills like sit, stay, down, paw can be expected. Cuddles and snuggles will be the norm. I love singing and talking to dogs, they are great listeners! I will gladly provide photos and text updates during the booking. Your home is your castle, and I will treat your home with love and care. I've received feedback that clients homes are cleaner/in better shape than when they left, this is always my aim. I believe that along with direct care of your pet, maintaining a clean environment for them is part of care. Also, I want your return home to be stress-free and a joy to come back to. I provide lite vaccum, kitchen and bathroom wipe downs, laundering of towels and linens utilized during a house sitting. Upon your return, you can walk in, sit back and kick your feet up!
Information Diana M. would like to know about your pet
Please share all about your pet with me! Medical history, behavioral history and nutritional needs etc. The more detail you can share, the better. Do they have a favorite toy, favorite treat? Anything I can know to make you and your pet happy, please share with me. "Too much information" does not apply in tailoring custom in-home care for pet!
A typical day
I like to take dogs out to parks, hiking trails, and out for a swim in warm weather. Duke Island park. Sourland Mountains, Kent Lockwood Gorge, Columbia Trail and Round Valley are locations I frequent. I utilize the Strava app to monitor my own outdoor activities, track routes, distance, speed, elevation etc. I will be happy to forward a report to you of the walk your dog has been on each visit for you to keep track of your pets activities. I average 16.50 minutes per mile according to the app. This provides you an idea of how productive a 30 minute would could be depending on your dogs pace. If your preference is for your pet not to leave your yard or neighborhood, I am happy to maintain boundaries of areas you and your pet are most comfortable with. I'm happy to engage cats in play with Flirt Poles, Lazer pointers, anything that they love to play with.
