Pet care experience
Seeing to the safety, health and happiness of my dogs has always been and still is my highest priority, greatest honor and deepest joy. In the last 20 years I have been blessed with 5 amazing dogs of my own and 2 that I rescued from shelter after their owner passed away. I have loved and cared for 2 wolf hybrids, 1 saint bernard, and my beloved, recently passed german shepherd. I now have a 5 month old, beautiful pyrenees anatolian mix. My level of commitment has always been way past 100%. my dogs are family, and you can be assured I would treat yours that way as well!

My wife of 62 years and I have owned dogs (and cats and chickens and horses) most of our lives together and have buried beloved deceased dogs in backyards from coast (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) to coast (California). We give generously to our local (Panhandle) animal shelter, from where we (and our Sandpoint family) have adopted countless cats and dogs over the years. We usually do not like people who do not like dogs. In short, we know a loving, authentic dog person when we see one -- and Diana tops that list. You could not find a finer dog caregiver.

I live on a mountain with very few people. I walk an uphill mile from my car to the house so just getting to and from offers good exercise. My house is completely dog friendly...what's mine is theirs. I have a cat who has lived with big dogs all his life. I have a whole mountain top outside my door for endless running room. I love to walk with dogs!

Is the dog aggressive toward cats? Any medical conditions? Does the dog want lots of exercise or prefer to lay around? Any games or activities the dog enjoys or that we should avoid? Has the dog been away from home before?
A typical day
I live on 10 acres on a very unpopulated mountain. There is no car traffic near my house. I walk an uphill mile to get from my car to the house and there are wooded trails in every direction outside my front door. Lucille is my 6 month old pyrenees puppy. She is very sweet and playful. She enjoys playtime with other dogs.

Availability
I am taking an online training course for canine specialist, studying from home and work 1 day per week on Saturdays. I am available on weekdays and open to either a set schedule or random as needed. Overnight or extended boarding is a possibility.
