Hello Dog Lover!, I have worked with dogs for many years and have had the privilege of working with DogVacay for one year. I am an experienced dog groomer who has dealt with many breeds and many behaviors. Through DogVacay I have become very familiar with separation anxiety and how to handle it the best way. Each dog behaves very different when staying at my home the first time. I do everything I can to ensure each dog that stays with me is given the same love and attention that they are given at home. I treat every dog like they are my own. I have a large home with two empty master bedrooms and a fenced in backyard. The kitchen is gated off all day to avoid any food aggression from dogs and the upstairs is also gated off to avoid injuries on the stairs. The door leading to the backyard is located in the living room and is supervised throughout the day. If I am leaving the house and a dog does not have a kennel I will let them free roam. However, if I have multiple dogs I will leave them in separate rooms with food, water, any toys they have and a pet bed to make them comfortable while I am away. My dog,Toki, is a very loving and calm dog. She loves other dogs especially small dogs. She has met many dogs through DogVacay and has never had a bad experience. She is very caring of dogs that stay with us and even helps calm separation anxiety. She is in tune with the behaviors and attitudes of other dogs and will separate herself if a dog does not want to play. A majority of the time she becomes best friends with other dogs VERY quickly. In my neighborhood there are several close places to take dogs on short or long walks. Priest Point Park and Tolmie are just a few of the many places I have taken dogs. When I am not walking dogs I have a backyard that is big enough for dogs to roam and play. On rainy days we have fun inside playing with several toys available to each dog, as well as, several comfy dog beds if they would rather nap. I will provide 24 hour care for your pets and make them feel comfortable in any way I can. This past years with DogVacay has been a great experience and I have met a lot of wonderful dogs.
