I’m sure Devin is a nice person but I will not be using his services again. The night we picked up Busara. I’d asked the sitter if we could come by between 10:15-10:30pm and he said that was fine. We showed up at the door he told us to go to and knocked. The room was dark as if no one was home but my dog kept barking. We realized we didn't have the # in my husbands phone (the one we ended up grabbing on the way out) and couldn't call. After five minutes of my dog barking and no one coming to the door, I started talking to my dog and she started to cry. I was starting to feel very upset and went up to the other part of the house and rang the door bell. He answered right away and said that I was supposed to go down to the other door. I told him that was fine but we'd been down there for 5+ minutes with no response. He said he was sorry and had been waiting by his phone. I replied that I had grabbed my husbands phone that didn’t have the number. Having gotten there at 10:15 and assuming he would be with my dog, I hadn’t thought it would be such a big deal. He met us down stairs, turned on the light and let us in. I realized our dog was alone in this down stairs area, in the a pitch dark room and he had been far enough away from her that he couldn’t hear her loud barking. In the end, I’m glad I didn’t call ahead because if I would have text him I wouldn't have known she was in a pitch black room alone in another part of the house. I'm now under the impression that this is where he kept her at all times besides walks. Which he also mentioned that she had an accident the other day but admitted he'd been gone for a long time. My dog can hold it for 10 hours and though I know other situations can make her nervous, he'd stated on his profile that he wouldn't be gone for more than four hours at a time (and this happened at the end not the beginning of her stay). I'm very upset with my first Rover experience. I’m not really sure how to rate my experience, my dog is alive and well but I don’t feel that she got the care I was expecting.
