Hello! I’ve been taking care of all kinds of animals since age 10. I’m 30 now so… long time. That’s the first time I’ve felt really old saying something, but oh well. Here’s my animal living history: I raised baby ducks and geese as a child. I’d get up an hour early for school to clean up their living areas and play with them outside. I rode horses competitively and cared for my family’s horses, as well. I even broke my arm in a horseback riding accident in Germany! Ask for scar proof. My very first job was for Family Vet practice on Stage Road. I was the kennel manager and took care of all of the boarding cats and dogs. I administered all of their medications and walked them and loved on them while their families were out of town. Now I have one doggo, Bear. A very sweet, big fluffy chow chow mix that I rescued. I also have two kitties: Puff Kitty, a snowshoe siamese that I found dying on the side of the road as a kitten, and Sophie, who I saved from Craigslist when the owner posted about leaving a box of kittens on the side of the road. By the way, Bear was a very skittish and abused rescue when he found me .. so I have a lot of experience with being kind and careful with shy or fearful animals. I absolutely love animals and they bring me a lot of peace and joy. To be totally honest, I’ve been working my first corporate job in IT and it’s really a bad fit for me. There’s no windows and it’s cold and sad. I have no time to enjoy the things that I love, like my family and pets and making music and art. I need sunshine and exercise and happiness, so I figured that combining my love with animals with helping others and getting to move around outside throughout the day could be the perfect way to get out of this job and get happy / physically healthy feeling again.
