Pet care experience
I’ve had pets my whole life. As an adult, I had a cat on a special diet and later a dog I gave senior care to until she passed. I work from home for a tech company so it’s easy for me to host a pet or stay at your place so your pet doesn’t have separation anxiety. I love both dogs and cats and sit my friend’s pets regularly. I also volunteer at Muttville senior dog rescue. Making sure you and your pet feel as happy as possible while apart is my goal. I will care for your pet like that are my own.

Desiree is fantastic and I feel sooo lucky to have found her. We recently moved to San Francisco and needed to go out of town. We fortunately found Desiree and she was just perfect in taking care of our older, somewhat neurotic, character dog- I can’t say enough about how much our dog loved her and what amazing care she provided. Desiree is a true dog lover and has that special bond with dogs.
Desiree was great with my dog, Jack! She was communicative, responsive, and sent tons of pictures. She was very thoughtful in asking questions to make sure Jack was as comfortable and sticking as close to his normal routine as much as possible. When I dropped Jack off he seemed immediately comfortable in her place.

I make sure to have clear instructions from owners for how they want their pet’s days and nights structured. This way, I can re-enforce rules you may have around being on/off furniture, crate time, exercise schedules, and feeding regimes. Every pet is different so we can set up time to make sure you and your pet are comfortable with me before booking. I get how nerve wracking leaving your fur baby at home can be. Im happy to send lots of pics, videos, and can FaceTime with you while you are away so you can check up on your pet.

Let me know what makes your dog nervous. For example do they get scared of other dogs on the sidewalk but not in the park? Do they get scared around children or men on the street in the park? Do they prefer to sleep in a crate or with me? Do they have any “tells” for when they want to go to the bathroom ? So busy streets freak your pup out? Does your dog like to be held or never held? Things like that are great to know. You know your pet best, and I can alter our dog walk routes to best accommodate your dog’s preferences.
A typical day
I love a long morning and afternoon walk. Since I work from home, I can add in a lunchtime walk too for extra active dogs. I normally go to GGP but also like to explore cole valley, go to the beach, and walk up to pac heights.

Availability
I’m a writer who works from home and don’t currently have any pets (my senior dog passed this spring/waiting a bit till I’m ready for a new fur child). My schedule can be pretty flexible. As far as pet sitting at your place, as long as you have wifi, that works. This means your pet can have structured potty breaks and meal times. Pets are allowed on my sofa at home and I live across the street from Golden Gate Park, so nature walks are easily factored in.
