Desiree is a lover of life for humans, pets and insects. Her dream was to become a veterinarian or a veterinarian's assistant. Unfortunately, she never pursued that dream. From young she pet sat for her two furry-grand nephews (dogs) and furry- cousin (cat). Desiree always wanted her own fur-child, but her father did not want another pet after the loss of our fur-baby Precious. However, my sister, who lived upstairs had a cat Karmel. Desiree cat sat for vacations and started sneaking the cat downstairs daily. Eventually we fell in love with him. Around 5 years ago my sister remarried and had a baby that was allergic to cats. When they moved they couldn't take the cat. We were reluctant knowing Karmie was old and accustomed to coming downstairs daily (for hours at a time). We couldn't deal with the thought of some stranger caring for him. Karmie lived with us for the last three years of his life. Karmie never experienced the outside world until Desiree started walking with him outside. She cared for him and gave him the best years of his life. Sadly, Karmie passed on Christmas day 2017. Karmie is missed dearly especially by Desiree whom he slept with. We are sticking to the no pet rule but would gladly welcome visitors.
